ok so a little update. as i said a couple of weeks ago im growing half plants in soil and the other half in my flood and drain system. the plants in the hydro system are not even half the size of the plants in the soil and look shitty. i was reading a maximum yield magazine and it explained what each nutrient does and when there is a lack of a nutrient how the plant is affected and how it looks. stunted growth, yellowish leaves. purple or red stems. all these are signs of my plants so im assuming they are lacking a ton of nutrients. im not sure if i should have been giving the plants in the hydro system nutrients sooner because i know that rockwool does not have any nutritional value to plants whatsoever. I did read that soil alone has a lot of nutrients that are essential for a plant to grow. So in conclusion i think the my plants need more nutrients. Im really pissed becuase i thought the hydro plants would be growing faster than the soil plants. hopefully they catch up.
thats exactly why i didnt do hydro as my first grow and still wont do hydro it gets to technical. But if you get it down then its fantastic i dont think you should worry about nutrients and just water your plants cause obviously if your soil plants are growing without anyhting then the enviorment of the closet isnt the problem their just not getting to the water so maybe check the bottom of the rock wool or maybe transfer them to all soil till they get bigger then put them into the hydro setup.
ok so we talked to the guy that we bought the whole set up from as well as the nutrients from. he gave a us a write up of exactly how much and when to use it. We were not giving enough nutrients that was for sure. so hopefully in the next few days they start picking up and i will take some pics. the ones in the soil are doing fine because they are getting enough nutes and soil is just a better grow compared to rockwool which has no nutritional value for plants. so by just giving them water they are not getting the essential nutrients they need to grow. if you give water to soil plants and no nutes they will actually grow and be fine. i guess you learn as you go hopefully shit starts looking up
plants are looking a lot better now. hopefully in about a week they have grown a ton and in about two to 3 weeks i will be taking clones and start the flowering process.
DUDE perfectttttt honestly dont change anything your doing. How is the fan setup working out? make sure no pins are loose in the wall. But wow what an improvment in the next couple weeks get ready for hydro take off!!!!!
yea the plants are taking off and even just in the last 24 hours i have seen a huge difference. the fan is working great we now have some air blowing through the light to keep it cool. The room sits at about 85 during the day so its not too hot in there. I am expecting the hydro to take off in the next week i will be changing the water and adding more nutes tomorrow with a little bit stronger of a dose so im excited for the next week to come.
