This is the first time my roommates and I are growing. We bought the Stealth Bubbleponics system with most of the upgrades. So far we just picked out some seeds that we already had, and put them in the rock wool and are on day 7 of them growing. So far only two have spouted out the top and are about 2 inches tall about to sprout the leaves.

Our setup is just in the laundry room that has it's own door and ceiling vent. I'll have some pictures up soon. We don't really expect to yield too much from this first grow as it's a learning experience for all of us. Any feed back would be great.

So our plants look like they are sick, the two that actually sprouted. So we are trying to take two rock wool cubes with seeds in nutrient mix on a plate for a couple days. Should they just sit in the dark? We have a bowl over them in a dark room as well. Any feedback would be great. We are the noobiest of all noobs over here.

Here are some pictures of what we are doing with the seedlings. I have them in front of my window to get heated up during the day a bit as I don't want to heat the house. I have a bowl covering them and they are sitting in the rock wool in a puddle of the nutrient water.

Take them out of the nutrient water!
They need just plain water for at least a couple weeks.
Also keep them in the light. Put the rockwool cubes into the setup and water them when the rock wool is dryish. One the roots start coming out of the rock wool just water the rock stuff around it and then once the roots are in the water you don't have to water them anymore.

I was just referring to the first picture of the two plants in the second post. They are a bit yellower than the pictures I've seen around here. I keep reading all these kinda walkthroughs on growing with the hydroponics but I keep getting pretty different ways to do things.

I was having the same problem with a cfl grow I had it was in soil and it was an over nutrient problem. What are the temperature and humidity you have in there right now?

First off, I just wanted to say I appreciate you taking the time to help out a bit.

The two plants that actually sprouted up are starting to look a bit better. Yesterday we started it on a 18-on/6-off lighting schedule, and this morning I flushed out the nutrient water with regular water for a bit to see how that goes.

Temp: 75 Degrees F; Near 80 under lights
Humidity: A little below 50%

I replaced the nutrient water in the reservoir with regular water and now there is a weird smell, that I can't quite put my finger on what it smells like, in the room. I lifted the lid to the water and it was coming from that. Any ideas? I did check the pH level and it was near 7 so I did put a small amount of pH-Down in it, I'm not sure if that is what could be causing it.

Any feedback or comments from anyone who has had this problem would be great!

Are you using tap water? If so it is probably just chlorine. What does the smell, smell like?
