Default My First ever grow! Tent setup with fem. Snow Whites!

Figured I would start a grow journal so I could also be a coolcat like the rest of you all here.

This is my first grow. After a hell of a time getting a decent setup, and messing with a lot of things to make sure I could do this right, I finally got it going.

Currently running 10-12 CFLs (5 above each plant, 2 on reflectors about a foot up). In about a month, when it gets about time to flower, Ill have a 400w HPS (maybe 250, need to see if a 250 will work good enough in my tent first).


Im growing feminized Snow White plants which I got form Nirvana.

Germinated them using the germination kit, which worked like a damn charm, WELL worth the 10$.

Put the lil seedlings along with the germinationkit thingy into soil on July 9th at 9pm.


Below are the pictures taken of my setup and of when I first put them in the soil. I had a CFL tip over and completely bend one of my seedlings, but appears to be doing just fine a couple days later!

Day 3 - July 12 - 12:30pm


The seedling whose stem completely bent (as if you were to get a papertowel roll and bend it) seems to be doing great, even after her tragic accident!

Have a different CFL setup than in first pictures, obviously way I had it at first was very unstable. These lights are centered perfectly above the plants.

First 2 plant pictures are of the left Snow White seedling, and the other is the Right (which were calling my girlfriends plant) hopefully the left one will come out on top!


Any and all feedback is always welcome! =D

I would back the lights up a few inches.
Once the cotyldon leafs turn yellow start your nutes.
I never checked water run off.\
Ph always goes from 7.0 to 5.6 after I add nutes/molases/etc.
Give them 3 weeks then POW they take off like crazy. Have fun and keep up the journal.

Thanks. I plan to update it daily at first, then every few days once it slows down. I thought I needed to keep lights about 1-2 inches above plants? I will back them up though. Also using MG soil, mixed with some other things, only about 20% MG soil tho. Not sure if the one that got bent is going to survive.

Day 4 - July 13 - 8:00pm

Whelp, the right SW seems to be doing great here on Day 4. However, the left SW (one who was in a tragic accident ((attacked by killer CFLs))) doesnt seem to have changed any. It isnt showing signs of dying yet, but also hasnt grown any. Hopefully I will see some changes tomorrow. I piled a little more top soil above along the stem so it could support itself without the supports.

I dis like MG. But use what you have and be careful if you add nutes later in there life. MG already has some.

Yea, Ive got the Foxfarm to use, but plan to be very light with it.

Why? Just add 20% perlite. Look Grower, I have used that FF Ocean Forest and Light Warrior, and to be honest with you I think the Light warrior just has lots of perlite in it. I use it for poppin seeds (Ocean forest) and clones. I have never, Never had a problem with it.
Read there site. It will tell you that it will not burn plants, thats just BS that other soil companys say to get you to buy theres (roots organics).
