Whats up everyone. I just built my first grow closet and wanted to start a grow journal. I started off by acquiring some nice white widow seeds. I then put them in a coffee pot and left them outside. After a few weeks they grew to about a couple inches and looked healthy. I bought some pots and feed and transplanted them. One died during transplanting and now im down to 4 plants. I started by leaving them in my window but they werent catching enough light. So i forked out some cash and built a grow closet out of a large dresser i had. I built a shelf and have two sections. 3 plants in small pots up top and 1 plant in a big pot on the bottom. I bought 2 450 watt plant lights from home depot. Has anyone ever heard of these??? I cant seem to find anything on them. They look like flood lights with a blue tint on them. These things look great .. really bright. The only thing is they emit some heat. I dont know if these work well or not. I will Post pictures soon.

good luck am pretty much the same dont no what my seeds are tho never seen them lights but i have 500w lights wich i dont have a clue about also..

when i started ,,knowing nothing,,,not too long ago,,i was using 500 halogen work lights i got from Home De`Pot,,after my seedlings came up,,i put em in a closet,,,and they wilted to death,,,lights are too hot,,,and not right spectrum,,,,anybody wanna buy 2 500 watt mechanics lights,,lol

Im not sure exactly. Ive tried googling these lights but no luck. They look like floodlights. But on the box they are called , PHILIPS "AGRO-LITE" PLANT LIGHT. Correction on my first post the lights are actually 120W. So to recap. I have two 120 W PHILIPS Agro-Lite Plant Light. They are working great so far and they are really cheap (only 11 buck each). THe only thing i dont like about them is the fact that they put out a little bit of heat, and im a bit paranoid about burning my house down with two of these in a wooden closet made of particle board. The wood isnt getting hot so i think my paranoia is just kicking in (probably cause of all the weed ive been smoking). Any way any comments would be greatly appreciated. PICS SOON.

how did the plants turn out with the plant lights>

sorry to break it to you, but those lights you bought are not worth a damn but heat and over streched plants. I would definitly buy like 6 26 watt cfls 6500k daylight for veg and put them 3 inches above there canopy, but if you have a fan you can run the 1 inch above and run the fan direclty at them, but not to stong. I promise with these lights you will definilty get great growth during veg

For flowering I suggest 4 23 watt soft white cfls 2700k per plant.

if you don't trust me check out my grow log vegged under 8 cfls day light 6500k and 400 watt hps for flowering.
