They would perform better if the conditions they were growing in didn't change everyday. I think they would perform better and it would be easier on you if you just left them in the box to do their thang. It's up to you man, maybe start some new seeds and do a side by side comparison

Oh yes, incidentally, the plants stay under the light when I open the rear window. I am really just adding sunlight when it is available, but the lights stay on 24/0. Still think this will confuse them?

Yes, there is a window in the back wall which is covered with a pane of bathroom glass - you know to diffuse the direct sunlight and to frustrate any nosy-parkers trying to get a peek at my crop. This window also has mdf covering-panel which can be removed or replaced to return to full stealth mode, or for bedtime. (will take pics later and post). The grow box sits directly in front of a South facing window (I'm in the Southern hemisphere, so the sun is strong and abundant - even in mid-Winter.

Just a little update. Last I night I guess I was bored and topped all of the remaining tall plants to bring them more in line with the up-n-coming seedlings. A little rash I know, but there is still plenty of time for them to recover before the seedlings gain some degree of maturity. Besides, I currently have seven 5-week olds and thirteen 1-week olds, all of whom seem very healthy. This is in addition to another 12 viable seedlings in the nursery. However I plan to SOG only nine or four females in the grow-box. It is my first grow of any description, so I have no idea what to expect. It is currently mid-winter here, so when flowering time comes around, only the top specimens will remain in the grow-box and all of the rejects wil be moved to the garden, where they can flower the natural way. In the likely event that my hunches about who the girlies might be is wrong, I can simply replace them with a top lady from the garden. At the same time I can run a side-by-side comparison of the two forms of flowering. This way I can hopefull have a bountiful harvest while raising some lankier girls in the garden from where I might get some great clones for the next grow; perfectly in time for spring!

rite on man, plants look nice, on that one tho u topped, shoulda left some of the fan leaves than just two, it would have came back alot faster. but damage is done. plants look healthy. how many are u planning on stuffin in that box of urs?

Yeah, a bit like shutting the stable doors when the horses have already bolted I suppose. I'm only planning on raising either 9 or 4 females in the box eventually, depending on what the box can handle. The rest will go to the garden to become either mommies for cloning, or replacements for any males that pop up in the grow box. This is my first grow and it's from a mixed bag of seeds, so I'm not assured of getting enough ladies for the next grow (hopefully from female-only clones) at which point I can drastically reduce the numbers that go in the box. I'm just making sure I don't end up with too little fems to fill the box to the brim, when flowering time comes around.
