Hello everyone, this is my first grow. I picked up a 1000watt HPS ballast, air coolable reflector, and timer for 100$ off craigslist. I received 20 grand master kush (grand daddy purp x master kush) seeds from a fellow member on this site, who is a very kind person.

I've been vegging 2 of the seeds under about 69watts of 6500k cfls for 30 days. Two days ago I switched them under the hps to veg( I know I'm supposed to use MH, but I figured until I obtain one the 1000watts of hps is better than the 69 if cfl.

I cut the leaves stem where it meets the main stem, is that a proper way to take a clone?

Here is plant #2, it was doing the best at first, but then grew into the lights and then a series of deficencies rendered it a bit messed up, but since I put it under the hps and started to use foxfarms veg it's had a lot of excellent looking new growth and the damaged leaves are kind of coming back. Here are some pictures.

I was thinking about getting a dual arc bulb that was 600watts hps and 400watts mh, so I could use it for vegging, it's either that or get a MH conversion bulb.

After I get these guys going well, I'm going to germinate some Arjans ultra haze #2, Sour diesel, Lambs breath, Lemon Skunk, and maybe this freebie G13 labs Sour Diesel, though I might not bother, I hear they're the worst genetics.

I'm using organic soil I bought from a head shop, plants so far seem to like it. They sprouted on the 30th of May, and are about 10-12 inches tall. My grow room averages about 85-90 degrees and low humidity, I know this is too hot and I will be adding a window AC unit in the room, as well as a co2 regulator or a LOT of yeast in the next couple days or so.

Man it got hot today, 105 outside at peak. Plants stayed around 85-90, I really need to get this window AC unit in.

I germinated some arjans ultra haze #2 today, because it grows like such a pure sativa, I'm going to super crop the hell out of it.

you can almost watch your plants grow under a 1000 watt light, no joke.

Currently I am germinating 2 arjans ultra haze #2, Sour diesel, Lambs breath, G13 labs sour diesel, Lemon Skunk, and 9 more grand master kush's. Once they've sprouted I will have a total of 19 plants growing under the 1000watter.

How bad is the 85-90 degree temperature?

You'd get away with it, but dont let it go above 85 if you can... 75 is optimum.

I'm working on it, it's just so hot outside it's hard to even keep my house cool. I'll be getting a window ac soon. I can't wait to get the dual arc bulb in, I really think my plants are going to love both spectrums.

Update!

Plants are doing awesome! Finally got an ac unit in today, I put it in the window directly next to the closet that the grow is in. It lowered the ambient temperature of my house from 88 degrees to 76. It hit 107 today, with a heat index of 110, it's ridiculous! Now the grow room is about 78 degrees,

One of my cats severed an arjans ultra haze #2 sprout, though I replanted it and I THINK it's growing, it's out of its shell and has 4 tiny leaves that are developing....I think.

Without further a due, here are some pictures!

My small plants are going on their 3rd set of leaves, though the leaves still only have 3 leaves, when should I transplant them from the 16 ounce cups? Also, I planned on using 1 gallon pots for all plants aside from the arjans, which I intend to grow big, very big, and will use 5 gallon pots. Will one gallons be enough for the root system to allow the plant to be around 3 feet tall? Or does it need more room to grow?

Hey Ill tell you I topped my lates AUH2 at 23" it grew to about 31/2 ft. I flwered my others at 18" naturaly and the biggest was like 6'3". So be careful they will get monsterous.
