I think you're all set and ready to take off!
As an aside, did you already give the dimensions of your cabinet?BTW, very funny story in this evening's update.

Is it normal for the clipped leaves to turn yellow and start dying? Just curious, i'm getting a little worried. I took them outta the humidity dome today...they seem to be doing good besides the dying leaves.

Quote:
So long as it doesn't spread to the fuller leaves and growth shoots, I believe that everything is just fine.... I've got four cuttings going now; one showed roots yesterday, and the clipped leaves got pretty yellow before then. But the new growth is healthy and happy. Some long-term growers, such as Uncle Ben, don't clip the leaves when cloning. They say if the leaves turn yellow, it's from the root-producing stems taking the food/energy they need from these leaves, so according to their logic clipping them defeats the purpose of the rooting cuttings getting all the nutrition they need till they have root systems to support them. My first clones weren't clipped, and didn't have humidity domes, and they flourished in no time. Go figure, eh? Next time I take cuttings (by my 2nd week of 12/12 at the latest), I think I'm going to clip leaves on some and not on others; i.e., two from each strain. I want to see if clipping them does more good or not, with a side-by-side comparison. OH, almost forgot! Do you remove the humidity domes at least once a day for at least several minutes, to let them breathe? I didn't know to do this at first. ![]() Disclaimer: I'm not assuming you don't know any/all of what I just said. In the attached photo, you can see the ventilation holes I drilled. (If you don't have a drill, use a poker made from a hanger and heat the tip over a flame, then poke it through. Works wonders!) You can also see that two of the four have yellowed a lot; the one at the top right is the most "shriveled" and is the one that showed roots yesterday. The new growth at the tip is healthy as can be! Sorry for rambling so much. I'm quite wordy as it is, but I'm really out of it today and can't seem to type/speak without thinking out loud!

Thanks a ton kat. Yeah, my caregiver takes the dome off in the morning and at night to mist, then puts it back on. But the dome is off for good now. If it doesn't get better, I guess i'll try something else.
