Old Frog's Jack Flash Sea of Green (Clone Wars pt. 2)
Second verse same as the first.
After a little vacation we're firing it back up here on the frog farm!
- Jack Flash clones**
- Two 8'x4' ebb and flow trays
- One 70 gal. reservoir (Botanicare)
- Two Little Giant NK-1 Pumps
- Two Power Head Pumps
- Six 600w HPS with Hortilux bulbs
- 100 lbs. Hydroton
- Dutchmaster Gold A&B nutrients, along with Max and Zone
- Dutchmaster Foliar Feeding Liquid Light and Penetrator
Equipment update:
- Six 8" wide x 20" long Suntubes with reflectors
- HEPA Filter
- Three 8" Max Fans
- Phresh Filter 650 cfm capacity
Vegged the plants for 14 days under four 600w blue spectrum Hort. bulbs at 650ppm/5.6ph and flipped them on June 3rd under six 600w HPS (reg.) Hortilux bulbs. Now running @900ppm/5.8ph, flooding once every 24-36 hours and foliar feeding once a week.
Vader hoods! Modded the hoods by taking the little piece out and floating the added reflectors one inch above the suntubes.
Y-ducted the lights in the center. The max fans are at either end of the room sucking three 600w worth of heat through the suntubes from the new phresh filter. Overkill city.

Temps don't exceed 79f. Ever. Got a nice huge portable A/C in the corner doing nothing since those Max Fans came on the scene.

ur gonna love those cooltubes / suntubes bro! wish u had a light meter so you could do a comparison of the tubes modded/unmodded... the first thing i said to myself when i saw that pic was... hmm.... might be more reflective if that was inside the tube...

I don't see a problem with growing small quantities of cannabis to supply ones own medicinal needs. I do not par-take in, or condone, the illegal growing of cannabis for commercial purposes.

Yeah DaG, this one'll be interesting. I've got forty in each tray this round; about a 30% increase in numbers from last time.
Those suntubes are gonna pay for themselves in weight, I guarantee it. My light meter hovers around the 100-110 mark when eight inches from the suntubes. 85-95 on the perimeter about fourteen inches away. I tested the factory reflectors out of the box with these things and found the spread to be undesireable, however, it's possible to tinsnip those skinny ones even skinnier so they compliment the additional refectors a lot better. Definitely something I considered. But talked to a buddy who runs ten of the same ones and he'd modded all of his long ago with good results. We'll see, I may well replace all the reflectors with something superior by the end of the summer. This'll do for now.
Eliminate the variables and tighten the screws! This ship o' fools has to be seaworthy!
