Makes sense to me. Thanks. I clone to eliminate problems later. When I was growing from bagseed I cloned right before I switched to 12/12 and discarded the males to the hash pile and then clone the clones for future crops.

I really, really like your set-up. The plants are all healthy (minor things on a couple but absolutely no big deal). The temp, ph and humidity are spot on for this stage of the grow! I was thinking of a rockwool block in a e&f table but this looks better. Great job!

I will clone these once for sexing and thats it , just to get the hang of cloning , then flower the mothers , keep some more clones to flower again while I grow the good strains from seed . by the time the seeds get ready for the with good enough roots I will take the clones that room and put them in the flowering room . . do you prefer hydro or soil

I grow tomatoes in soil and my other things in hydro. I prefer hydro so I can control all aspects of what they get or don't get. Tried to plant one outside earlier this year and a rabbit got it. Thought about doing soil when I first became interested in growing inside but just not enough control and fixability for problems. It's not like you can dump the soil and start over if you screw up.

Started from bagseed, vegged them to 12-14", cloned them, switched to 12/12, discarded the males and the male clones and it's been female clones ever since. Started a batch of fem seeds the grow before last, cloned those and now have their sisters vegging and they are about 8-10". I cut my current grow of 2 LSD and 1 Blue Cheese on Sunday. 32-34" in height. Expecting 8-10 oz. Using a 250 watt HPS and 105watt CFL's for side lights and just added a UVB reptile light to harden the buds and get more trichs. Don't know if that makes a lot of difference but it seems to work so far. I now get that every 8 weeks.

I thought bout using a screen and actually bought some 2" chicken wire but have never used it. I can control the height and exposure to the light by using Low stress training where you grab the stalk one or more nodes below the bud and bend it by squeezing the sides of the stalk between your index finger and thumb and squeeze it on all sides until it weakens the support and it falls to a 90 degree angle or so. Was chichen shit about hurting them at first but now can do it with a flick of my wrist like unhooking a bra! LOL! I grow in an attic closet with a pitched ceiling and I have anywhere for 4' to 7' in ceiling height and LST helps me keep everything even.

I only bend them a little (top couple of nodes) and they stay in bounds. Just keep it in mind as another way to limit height and expose more buds to the light which is kind of the purpose of the screen also. I hang my lights from cup hooks screwed into the ceiling with a thick plastic chain attached (easy to cut to length) and use S hooks attached to the light supports on the light itself to move it up and down. Takes me about 10 secs to move the light. My grow area is only about 42" wide x 3' deep.
