June 6th, 2009 - Day 17

It's been a few days since I've updated so here's the latest. The plants collectively are doing well, some better than others. 3A is a MONSTER! It has by far surpassed the others in growth, if there is a weed god I am praying for a female. 4A is also doing well and looks very indica with shorter fatter leaves. 2A first set of leaves look damaged a little but it is still developing healthy new leaves so I am going to play it out and see what it turns into. 1A is kind of dwarfed in comparison to the others, it is developing the same as the others just on a smaller scale, it isn't hurting anything at the moment so I'm going to try and grow it out and maybe it will surprise me. If I get one female out of the group and it isn't 1A I will be happy, if it is 3A or 4A I would be happier, if it is both, well damn, who needs Christmas?

Also, I'm wondering if the yellow streak on 2A is a birthmark or something? It doesn't seem to be hurting the rest of the plant.

All 4 look healthy, grant you that #1 is a miniature. I think you're getting the typical experience with these mazar's. Multiple pheno's(maybe geno's too) seem to be common. That is something that may make for a real fun grow to watch. Not sure what is going to come out of those grow pots.

Day 41

It's been awhile since my last update. Between now and then I took a week vacation to Mexico and had to leave my plants in another person's care. That person managed to kill 2 of my remaining 4 plants. The ones I have left I am very happy with. My favorite plant 3A that had the most rapid growth survived the week without me, believe it or not the dwarf plant 1A survived. Once I transplanted the plants into bigger pots both of them took off including the dwarf 1A.

I am very content with their progress. They are not big enough to make clones from yet, so there is no sure way that I know of to determine sex, but I have a feeling that I have 2 females... call it a hunch but I think I'm right.

good to hear from yah, relieved to see some survivors
probably hard to do a postmortem on plants that died while you were away, but any idea on what happened?
my guess would be over watering, based on the other grow experiences i had seen on the icmag logs

Well while I was gone there was apparently a heat spike and the person looking after plants didn't turn the fan on or adjust the temperature. In a sense it's okay, because that means that my remaining plants are pretty durable and resistant to maltreatment... Granted I never want it to happen again.

Live and learn. Hopefully the remaining two will be keepers. I'm honestly hoping the bigger of the two plants will be a sativa pheno, but it's not looking like it. The leaves look just as wide as the smaller one... God I love sativa....

Hello, I know it's been awhile since last post, so here's an update.

The plants are growing fine.. they are kind of restricted at the moment, I am still using my temporary setup and waiting for my tax return to finance the real one so the light I have isn't strong enough to penetrate through the bottom leaves, so they yellowed and died.

I know 1A isn't big enough to sex using preflowers, but I think 3A is getting close. I included some closeups of it to see if anyone can clue me in on what gender they think it is.
