Aurora Indica CFL Soil ghetto grow

As you can see after a couple of days of using it and moving my therm. and what not, it's getting pretty crumpled now. But that is a great idea as i probably would have replaced it in a day or two with shiny foil again.

Still looking good. FIM actually stands for Fuck I Missed from what I read?!? Basically the story goes that whoever came up with the name Fim, went to top his plant and ended up cutting the wrong position and it produced more colas as a result - could all just be good weed chatter though!?! Anyway, I topped mine as fimming seemed a bit too much on my first grow as I was nervous enough taking scissors to my babies. But they are hardy little buggers and barely slowed them down. This is a good diagram on both techniques:

 I wish I would have read that earlier as I may have chopped too soon. It seemed to me because she grows so short and stout that fiming is pretty difficult on this strain. I'll post pics in the morning as its 0000 here.

Ok...So this will be a long update. Last night I tried to Fim her and I was prett sure i'd fuked it up after dafoe23 left that badass diagram. So unfortunately I had to go BACK and cut off a whole leafset. And while I was doing so, I ended up knocking off half of my nodal growth that i wanted to become my colas. SO... She looks good after one night, the already formed leaves however, were quick to try and fill the hole I left in the middle. So only time will tell.

fim flam u might as well just wait till u have 4 or 5 true nodes and then supercrop the top. (it does not mean cuting any thing off) then when it heals, everythin below the super crop has extream growth and u still get to keep a huge center cola, except now u have 8 more cola growing up beside it.

PEACE

Thank you PurplebudSlayer. It was a good idea in that it gave me experience with it. But a bad one as i fucked it up. For anyone that doesn't know, new growth is FRAGILE and sometimes all it takes is a little slip and you knocked it off.

It's been awhile and I have an update! There's been extremely noticeable growth and I'm excited. I've added some flowering nutes as that's all I have at the moment and she needed some. I also went and got a ginormous 300w equiv and put in and it helps! So on with the pics!!!

Hopefully new colas

As it's my first grow that's made it this far, I have no idea. But I got this strain because it's so short, so it's very likely that it's a combination of strain, how close my lights are and the FIM.

So...It's been awhile I know. My bad, I'm sorry. On the up side I went into flowering 5 days ago and found out she's all woman! The pre flowers formed VERY quickly and the next day I had little tiny white pistils! On to the pics!

I'm not sure when she's supposed to bud up, but I'm hoping i'll see some smoke soon. I was dumb and bought a bulb that was super weak. Like a 13w kitchen light. Didn't want to take it back so I stuck it in there to fill in the holes. Also my leaf tips are yellow. I've read about it somewhere I just don't remember where. So what is it?

Sweet plant man, I'm thinking of growing Aurora Indica soon :) and the yellowing of the tips could be due to a magnesium deficiency. Not sure though cos i'm a major noob :P

So remember when I fucked up the FIM? Well apparently she worked herself out awhile ago, I just hadn't mentioned it. I've been doin an assload of LST to open up the middle bunch of leaves so the bottom could get some light and P00F! I've got more budsites. :hump: So...on to pictures!

Hey BC - Just read through your thread. As far as I can see, you are doing a fantastic job. Im a bit further ahead of you in my grow, but we have some similarities. I like your LST job. Looks very professionally done. haha. The budsites are popping out everywhere. I used topping on my grow, so I cant really advise you on your FIMing, but thus far it seems to be working out nicely. ANyways - Congrats on your ladyfriend and I will be following along with you.
