This grow has been going for close to 2 months already. Started as a straight CFL grow then I got annoyed at constantly manipulating the lights and bought a 250W MH system from HTG. That worked well for a week and then the light started shutting off when I powered up in the morning. Was suggested that it was a defective bulb so I will most likely be replacing with an Agrosun 250W MH bulb which apparently has some added Red Spectrum for flowering.
I am growing 3 Northern Lights and 1 auto flowering White Dwarf which was started only a couple weeks ago. I started with crappy soil that had Time Release pellets and left the plants in 6 inch pots too long which stunted growth significantly.
I bought 3 gallon containers along with FFOF soil and Bigbloom/Growbig in an attempt to save these midgets. Temps range from 69-85 degrees in a 4X6 closet.
The plants have been vegging for quite some time but I still cannot figure out the sex. The new containers and soil have helped immensely and hopefully I will still get some sort of smokeable material. One problem I foresee will be balancing the lighting for the auto flowering White Dwarf. Since it was planted so much later than the others I am worried about it getting enough light when I switch to 12/12 which most likely occur in another week.
Here are a few pics of the progress and as you can see the plants are being supplemented with CFL's until I replace my MH bulb tonight. Comments and criticisms welcome.
Started 12/12 cycle last night, still not sure on the sex of the Northern Lights plants, the White Dwarf is still too young to flower so I will be moving it upstairs on lights out period. Plants have responded very well to their new pots and soil. I am hitting the lower nodes with a few CFL's also. Praying for 3 females.
