| | Soil / Hydrohut : Gold Skunk , BigBud , HeavyHitter. Videos and Pics weekly. | | Everyone is welcome to comment, ask questions and offer advive. I will try and get a video or pics out al least once a week.
I had a thread going for my mexican dirt weed seeds before and those who saw that can see the continutation here now as well. They had to go back into veg 16 hours light mode because the more valuable seeds needed light. But they are starting to get smelly and nice and tall.
The other plants and what this Grow journal is for are basically from seeds, 9 BigBud, 5 Gold skunk, and 2 HeavyHitters.
Seeds are direct from Canada, Growing in a Hydrohut 4x4, currently have 400 watt HPS, a 465cfm Squirrel cage fan, and a small elf carbon filter. Room the hut is in is airconditioned as well. Soil is FoxFarms OceanForest, 15% perlite / vermiculite, 3% earthworm castings. Nutes are the foxfarm triple play grow big, tiger bloom, and big bloom. No PH meter, and ive been watering when my meter says below dry. And also when my finger 2 inches deep feels dry.
So far the plants may have gotten a bit shocked as i had a light leek through uncovered roof vent, solved that, the temp also maxed at 87 at hottest point of the day, but goes down to 79 at coolest. They are in 3" pots at the moment, and to me look all healthy. 3 of them are turning their first set of leaves, single leaf , not 3 leaf set yellow but otherwise all look nice and green and healthy.
Not sure when to transplant these babies, heard a lot of theories, but my pots are medium so im not sure. if anyone has advice on that one.
Video 1 Indoor Marijuana Garden. video on Educational
Ok heres 1st video, starts out real beautifully also, it begins with my friend covering her gorgeous ass as she was still sleeping when i was filming and the hut is in bedroom now.
Check out my gallery for full size pics, none of her sadly. and check out my weekly videos...

| | Video 2 and pictures | | Video number 2 Indoor marijuana grow hydrohut video on Educational
Another video of the garden. Video 2 There a bit older here, 2 real sets of leaves, mexican dirts got taller, and I also have the carbon filter, fan and ducting installed. The fan is so powerful is makes the walls suck in like 3 inches and theres a breeze on plants just from it sucking in air so fast from open flaps on sides of hut. I hate putting the damn pictures up because you must do it 1 at a time but I figure someone out there on dialup cant watch videos and will thank me hopefully. I feel like going straight video. So let me know if you want more videos and no pics. Or vice versa
forgot to add The first video ends weirdly so i can show the flaw of the hydrohuts opening is that the zipper leaves a 1 inch opening at the top and bottom which makes for a serious light leak. Combined with the ventilation flaps on the bottom, It could cause hermies so beware. I may seal all but one vent flap, seal the front zippers light leak. and may even put a fan to make it completely light proof but im lazy.
Hydrohut took me about an hour to build as i was toking all throughout, and the ceiling was hardest part cause i dont like to follow instructions but i had to go back like 4 times to correct it. And also its big, I mean realize this things will take a whole room up if its small.
I germinated using paper towel method. 9 out of 10 big buds success and growing. 5 for 5 on gold skunk, and 2 for 2 on heavy hitter. placed in dark closet, once i saw 75% cracked I put them all in soil (some hadnt cracked and all but 1 grew) centimeter deep.

17: 6" hard ducting. Some adapter piece I found in home depot, it has a rectangle that forms into a 6" circle for connection to ducting perfect for setup. A 465 hydrofarm squirrel cage fan (loud as hell, I built a controller to lower volume and speed) and then a phat hydro elf carbon filter. Hope its enough.

| | Forgot to mention those cfls that i germed with, made my sprouts stretch like crazy. I moved to the 400 watt HPS after watching them stretch like crazy for 4 days, was upsetting and made me glad i didnt buy more cfls, as I see there not good for much of anything. Its in pic 4. Had 2 42 watts and 2 27 watts very close to them, closer than pic shows. |

| | cfl's are very much adequate, i've grown some nice bud using them and got no stretching. However if the lights are that far away normally (in pic 4), its far to far away. The cfl's need to be 2-3 inches away from the growth tips and urs look about a foot away |

I said they were closer, probably 3.5 inches, not 2-3 but thats because I had 17 seeds and it needed to be high enough to cover those 17 spots, but 3.5 inches is still close, and they did stretch like crazy, and thats 138 watts 3.5 inches. and i had them sideways to get most light also. CFLs are great for little grows, like in cabinets and closets and things like that. But its just not realistic for wanting anything over a few ounces or for having amazing dense buds. And I my friend want dense buds and massive amounts, so yeah i spent a lot more on hps. |

| | have you found it worth the trouble and elec. cost to grow your dirt weed? You could get some good, cheap seeds online which would make your grows well worth it. They do look good though. |

The mexican dirt was a practice grow, and i started it before I had the hydrohut and fans etc. They spent first 25 days cfl, Out of 7 i had these 2 females, which have only used the 400HPS for 3 weeks by themselves, then were combined with the new quality seedlings. Gold skunk and bigbud, grown in my bedroom will be worth whatever electricity it costs. The dirt weed, if I could do it all over, honestly speaking I wouldnt have grown them, They have no resale value as they wont have exotic name, or look and I just dont see the yield being possible with them that one should expect from a HID setup. They just dont have the genetics, but I havnt smoked any yet, and I must say, they smell like really really good weed right now, so maybe theyll be great, but the cost ratio wont be good as with quality. So dont recommend the bagseed unless you expect to learn with it, and dont have good lighting, as it would be a waste. Bagseed would be good with cfls though cause you could really play with them and not worry. |

| | Well, its been a while, summer is here, less time for internet. But the babies are alive and well. I think they got nutrient burn in first week, they also got dehydrated and almost died from no water about a week and a half ago. But they bounced right back, and are looking great right now. Curious when to transplant. Dont know If I should wait longer to go to 12/12 cause there about 10 inches now. But they do look and smell great. Once again big bud, gold skunk and 2 heavyhitters all from seed. Not going to clone as im moving to a cheaper place in december, so no time for a second season, unless these guys finish super fast from flower cycle.
