Default Got a bit bored... and laid off work...
So I got a bit bored and I got laid off work. Screw the economy. Anyway, I had a bit of money saved up and my bills can be covered off unemployment anyways so I took a bit out of my savings and decided to grow some herb. First I had to find the space. So I gave up my bedroom. It's a master size bedroom, roughly 15' by 14.5', or something like that. Next, I had to decide on the number of lights I was going to use and wether I was going to go hydro or soil. Since I was going to have a lot of time on my hands, I opted with soil. Here are some pics of what I've done so far. Any comments, suggestions, or questions are welcome. Thanks!

Here's some stuff I bought today.

Hopefully I can start clearing the room out tomorrow. I will post pics as I go.

fans really depend on your lights. You could fit up to 9 1000w bulbs in that area. Or as few as one 600w.
So it really depends on, whatcha gonna do?

I was thinking of building tables... to catch runoff water so I don't mess up the floor. If I do that, I'm thinking of just going with some parabolic 1000 watt lights. I know, I know, they're not as efficient as horizontals, but I can get them for dirt cheap. So that's where I stand as of now. I'll have more pics today.

I wanted to fill that room up, not exactly 9 lights, that's a bit much, I was thinking more like 6?

So I went out and grabbed some more stuff from the store. I bought the lights and all the wood I would need to build my tables. I've been at it for a while and I managed to get the walls covered in that white reflection stuff and with help from a close friend, we got the tables framed up. I'm waiting on another source to bring me some sheets of FRP, fiber reinforced plastic for those of you who don't know. It has nice reflective properties and you can wipe it clean. Well here the pics.

Here's the west wall. I put duct tape anywhere there was a joint. Don't mind the white plastic you see there, I'm going to discard that idea.

This is the south wall. The door you see is the entrance to the room. Notice the wood frames for the tables.
http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o...t=P1010217.jpg

Here is the east wall. The doorway on the left is the walk in closet and the one on the right is the bathroom. You can see some of the light shields in the background.

Here is the north wall. Behind this is a really big window. I put some metal blinds and then put curtains over that. Wish I would've taken a pic...
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238100422

Here's a picture with the door shut.

Another shot with the closet and bathroom entrance.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238100629

This leads to the attic. This is in the walk-in closet... are you thinking what I'm thinking? This would be an ideal exhaust point. Right?
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238100927

While I was in the closet, I papered up this little corner on the shelf, might use this to house clones later, who knows. Just thought I'd do it while I was there.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238101006

I covered the opposite wall inside the closet as well. This would make a nice spot for a few mothers later on.

Tomorrow I'm going to assemble all the lights, hang them, pick up a panel box with timer, buy my exhaust fan, and finish up the tables. I will have pics tomorrow night hopefully.

BTW, I talked to a friend and he has a whole bunch of clones for me. Train wreck, yummy!

Thanks Imlovinit. Hopefully everything works out, but with everything else, I'm looking forward to the setbacks...

So I'm finally going to bed and calling it a night. Here's a few pics of what I did today.

I cut out a sheet of plywood, I thought it would be sturdier than drywall, and added a flange for the 10" ducting.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238235969

I wrapped up just for shits and giggles. I didn't want the bare wood look.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238236074

Finally got my exhaust fan! This thing is powerful, can't wait to see it work. I'm hoping it keeps the room cool enough with all six lights running.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238236137

Assembled some lights and finished framing the other table. This is the one on the North side.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238236216

Here's the other side, the side by the door.
http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o...t=P1010236.jpg

I was up the attic and I noticed it was a bit small. Just so I wouldn't have problems getting the heat out later, I went out and got an exhaust fan. I drilled it on to a sheet of plywood and hard wired it into one of the outlets. I set the automatic thermostat a 110, so as soon as the attic reaches 110 degrees, the fan will kick on and exhaust it all within minutes. There's a picture of it before and after install.
http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o...t=P1010232.jpg
http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o...t=P1010239.jpg

Put the fan together and set it in it's place.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1238236542

That's all for today. Tomorrow I'm going finish setting the room up and I'm picking up my cuttings! Can't wait. I don't look forward to hanging that big ass filter though. It weighs like 200lbs. or so. Thanks for checking this out. Peace RIU peeps!
