Afsmaekkers first ever grow. 180W Cfl, white rhino & Arjans Haze #3.

Hi everybody

I have been surfing this site for a few weeks now, and a week ago on march 15th i finally started germinating my first two seeds.
My setup is as follows:

1 x 125w Cfl veg light ( http://www.hydroponics.dk/catalog/pr...roducts_id=527 )
1 x 180w cfl gro light 2100 K ( http://rygegrej.dk/180w-2100k-bloom-...row-p-734.html ) + reflektor.

2 x 14L (3,7 gallon) buckets with holes i drilled in the bottom.

Soil + leca nuts + perlite.
1 pack of mixed GH seeds ( http://www.greenhouseseeds.nl/shop/i...&product_id=47 )

Bio-grow organic fert: 8 - 2 - 6 ( http://rygegrej.dk/biogrow-05l-p-3303.html )
Bio-bloom organic fert: 2 - 6 - 3,5 (http://rygegrej.dk/biobloom-05l-p-3302.html )

The plants are in the corner of my basement, and i have built a screen out of taped together cardboard boxes and black/white plastic. Its not 100% light proof, there are a few minor holes at the edges between the screen and the wall. But of the minimal light that enters the basement even less will reach my plants. Far less than what they would get outdoors from the moon and stars at night. So I believe i should be ok, once i go 12/12.

Since this is my first grow all help is very welcome. I am not buying any more lamps, except maybe one or two 21w cfls for lower canopy blooming.

they look good. maybe something around them to help reflecting would bring more light to them. but nice. i just started growing too. im on my 8th day today.

So its time for a small update: DAY 8 from seed

My two babies are looking fine. I turned on my "way to big" fan just two days ago, and i fear that it is too cold (Maybe i should get myself a thermometer

).
They have been growing fine and are about 10cm ( 4" ) high.
I water every two days, and then soak the soil just enough till i get water running out of the bottom. Is this a good way to go, or should i water less, but more often??

Howdy afsmaekker!

Man, your grow looks like mine and I'll for sure keep track of yours cause I have also posted my grow journal today, have you seen? Have a look! I also had a doubt regards the size of them and mine ones are a little behind in date but look similar.

As EXO said to you, I would also think about how to reflect that light back from the wall and regards the thermometer, I know costs but this is the only tool that I have which I know is really necessary.....buy used ones.....

Keep us updated and I'll do the same with my ones.

Day 10 from seed

I'm so f...ing excited and impatience about my plants. And want to water, add nutes, turn around and adjust all the time. But i can't f... up my plants, so all i do is water everyother day, and check in on growth CONSTANTLY

So now they are coming along fine, but i'm seriously contemplating about building a proper closet for them.. I'll post my idea for a small place for my girls, once i figured out how i might do it.

DAY 13 from seed

I replanted my plants today into their 14L (3,9 gal) pots today. They seem fine. One thing that I did not think about is that, because the plants are so short (only 3inches) above the ground after repotting, im having trouble getting my light close to the plants and still reach both. So for kicks I added a small 11w cfl to the side of one off the pots, cause it looked like that end of the plant was in a bit of shadow. Let me know what u think, cause i'm thinking of removing the ekstra light, i'm not sure it really adds anything but heat to the plant??

Anyways I bought a thermometer the other day, and its about 22C (72F)

DAY 32 from seed

Hi Y'all

So time for a update. Both plants have been growing ok, especially my Arjans Haze #3. bought a shitty ph meter, not to good but it gives me an indication where i am ph-wise. The last couple of days it has been around 6,8...
I have fed a few nutes with every second watering. Only a few drops pr. litre.
My watering has been very irregular, sometimes i give them 1,5 litres (½ gallon) each, so I can see water coming out of the bottom. other times i have only given them 0,5 litres.
Both plants have yellow spots, and the tips of the leaves of my AH#3 are curling downwards, but seem to be straightening out. My White Rhino seems pretty droopy

Any advice would be apreciated
