Greetings to all who enter.

This is my first grow of any kind, ever. I have been lurking around RIU for about 3 months now, reading, asking some questions and getting my learn on. I appreciate any and all input from all sources.

I am especially interested in feedback from the experienced soil and/or auto-flowering veterans.

Here are my goals for this grow:

Secure autoflowering seeds online...........Check
Build a 4' X 4' X 6' air-tight/Light-tight cabinet.....Check
Fill it with everything I need to complete a grow......Check
Collect Pollen from a healthy male and complete a seed run on one bud of my best female....In progress
Successfully harvest 3-4 ounces from 3-4 females of the six plants that are underway....In progress
Learn a few things along the way....and so it begins!!!

Germination was very successful (at least for auto seeds) 6 for 6 with three really taking off

Soaked for 12 hours then germed in paper towel on plate covered by bowl, left on floor heating vent for 2 days...nice healthy tap roots

Planted 1/2" deep in lightly moistened soil in current pots

Girls 1, 2 and 3 broke ground on Friday Feb 27th and the other three busted through on Sunday March 1st. (using that as Day 1)

Received first full watering on Day 3(no nutes) temps ranging between 65 F when exhaust fan is on and 85 F when its off. Humidity hovering around 45%

2nd full watering on Day 7(no nutes) temps ranging from 65 F and 92F...heat spiked because heater was bumped to higher setting. Seems to have slowed growth of the three plants closest to it...these were the runts anyways.

Day 11 Heater has been off since day 7 as outdoor temps have risen and basement is warmer. Humidity is up to 60 -70% most days. Temps holding very steady at 65-75 F now. Today was my expected watering day, however soil is still moist on all plants and Plant 3 looks like it's having issues.

Anybody see anything obvious on #3?

Just throwing this out to whoever might see it.

I'm on day 12, I've read the autos go straight from seedling to flowering. Can you tell from the photos if they are in flower? If so I need to switch bulbs. Noticed odor for the first time this morning.

Also, is there a problem with #3 or did it just get watered too soon?

Thanks.

nope not yet! if they are females, autoflower usually takes the girls a lil longer between 3 to 4 wks old! males faster 2 to 3 wks! they are hardy plants i feed at half strength they love it they are sometimes sensitive to nutes and depending on stain mites! goodluck

btw you can keep your lights on any regimn you want 12/12 18/6 20/4 or 24! i've read the yeild and size doesn't change much from any of these light cycles if any differance 12/12 might be 3 to 5% more! if your trying to save money go for 12/12

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

They have been on a 18/6 from day 1 and I'm gonna complete the grow on that schedule.

I know they show their sex at those time frames but I thought they went into flower stage almost immediately?

Any thoughts on plant #3?

been growing 3 auto dwarfs, planted on Jan.17th. they are about 13" tall, tricks are still clear. but the finished bud will be about 3-4 grams, per plant. first time growing this strain and alittle disappointed, but i knew it wouldn't be a half oz. but i was hoping for alittle more. smells mean, about one more week to go. will let you know hgow the smoke is. aloha

Watered this morning...went 7 days between waterings...plants seem to be fine...#3 still has drooping leaves (thought this might be overwatering, but didn't improve with time between waterings). Still haven't started using nutes yet.

Since getting temps between 60F and 80F, plants 4-5-6 seem to be growing strong. Humidity in cab is between 50%-62%

Even though Im calling this day 16, plants 1-2-3 are about 18 days since sprout. Female autoflowers should show sex around day 17...can anyone see signs of sex yet? Don't see any balls but males aren't supposed to show until day 20.

Any comments, observations are welcomed.

Pics of plants are in order 1-6...#2 still seems to be healthiest and last photo is a side shot of #2

Well, my healthiest and most vigorously growing plant grew balls since yesterday. Amazing how there was nothing there and today they are there in all their glory.

I needed pollen from a good male for a seed run anyhow so I guess it's not a complete bummer.

Well, it's been a busy day in the grow box. 400W HPS came in today and I needed to get those males out so I switched out the lights...wow...that 400 kicks out some light. Now I have exhaust fan running consecutive with the light... oscillating fan blowing up on the reflector. Temps after a couple of hours were holding right at 71 F.

Looks like 2 of the plants are definitely male. I killed one...1st picture shows the plant and roots.

Keeping the second, bigger male alive to collect pollen. Put him back under the T5 in my master closet until his pollen sacs burst. Weird or not that he is producing what looks like a nice bud on top?

2nd photo is of bigger male/side shot/ of pollen sacs.

3rd photo is of the bud on top of him.

Any comments or questions are welcome.

the male had a weird tap root.

you should put it in a pot outsid if you didnt hack it up yet. collect the pollon and save it,pollinate a selected few girls. keep some of the pollen and do a future breeding project

It was two males...the first picture is of the one I killed...just to see the root growth and the other two photos are of the male I kept. He's alive and well in my closet for the sole purpose of collecting his pollen...then I plan on pollenating a portion of my best female.

If it's possible, I hope to do the seed run this grow.
