Ok so this is my first post on the forums. Ive been browsing the forums for a while now and feel like I should contribute to the wealth of info here. I dont see any completed Brainstorm grow journals on here so it might actually be useful to some people. Following i have copied and pasted my notepad journal I was already keeping for my own use. Any comments are appreciated and the more people that comment on my thread the more involve the journal will be and the more i will keep you all updated. Thanks in advance to all that will undoubtedly be providing me with valuable help along the way. I havent grown in over 5 years so its pretty much a new thing all over again for me.


BRAINSTORM FEMINIZED GROW JOURNAL

All plants are grown in a 2'x6' room. Vegetation under a 400w Metal halide and 5 100 watt CFL. Flowering will be lit by a 600w High
pressure sodium. Vegetation nutes will be a homebrew 20-20-20 that has all micronutrients. and flowering will be a 15-30-15 bloom yielder.
I will be fairly generous with the fert because I have a large water resevoir under each soil pot so it is easy to flush at the first sign of burning.




3.02.09 11PM Seeds soaked in water and planted. 11 seeds total 1 broke when soaking so planted a 2nd one with it in case it doesnt germinate.
Planted in 10 seperate pots. No pictures yet. Will start taking daily pics when they sprout. Soaked the potting soil and set to 24 hour
light cycle, will continue said cycle throughout vegetative stage.

3.05.09 No change. I have kept the soil damp and the light on and off for 3 days. No germination yet.

3.06.09 10AM 7 of 11 planted seeds have germinated overnight. After the leaves were fully erupted from the ground I soaked the pot.
The ones that have yet to come up I just heavily misted the surface soil. If the Other seeeds dont break soil soon I will put another 4 seeds
in the empty pots. They will only be 4 days behind the others.

3.07.09 10AM 10 of 11 plants in 9 out of 10 pots have sprouted. Flooded the pots after they sprouted and they responded well to the extra water.
This will be a seed grow. Im not going to be taking any clones.

3.08.09 9PM 11 of 11 seeds sprouted. The last 2 came out pale and yellow but both are recovering well after some healthy watering.7 or 8 of the sprouts
are a bit taller than the other 4 or 5. 3 to 4 inches tall and all have there first pointed leaves.

Ignore the plants on the right in the room pic. It was just some bag seed i planted to give myself a quick crash/refresher course on the germination process before I started to fiddle with my feminized brainstorm seeds. pic was taked 6 days after planting and 2 1/2 days after sprouting... any comments appreciated.

helo m8! i grow brainstorms from dutch passion to! i must say that from 50 feminized seeds are 30 hermi!

Dude, no good. I looked all over for reviews of this strain and couldnt find any. Oh well they are already in the dirt cant change it now. maybe we will just hope I have particularly good luck. If they are a bad seed strain for being feminized then some reviews should be written then. Because while they werent outrageously priced , they werent the cheapest either. Guess we'll seee in 10 weeks...LOL. that was the main reason I went with this strain Short flowering time, and a decent yield. Thanks for the heads up though

Not much new to report today. The 3 points are starting to pop out. 3 are a bit bigger and healthier than the rest, if I were going to clone they would probably be the ones to watch but these are all going to be seed grown plants. Just dont have time for taking clones and growing them... I will only have time for one grow before I move... and luckily it is legal here. I can grow up to 29 plants and it is still legal, I love alaska for this law. Also you can have up to 4 ounces in your possession without penalty. Hopefully the rest of the states will start to set their own,similair prescedents. Later ya'll... I will take pics again tomorrow night. Again comments or just witty banter are welcome

hello! tomorow at friday we have harvest 40 plants brainstorm 9weeks flowering! yaa see tomorow what is the biznis! lol...

So... apparently (according to other forum posts) I goofed On the soil I purchased. I bought the Schultz pre-fertilized soil. I flooded the pot of one of my plants the othe day and she got a wee bit burnt...oops. So as I have read on the forums now I need to be particularly careful not to over-water... and now wont be adding any of the fertilizer I had purchased. So I ordered a bottle of superthrive to at least take care of any lacking micro-nutrients... Any other tips on how to not screw up my plants while using this soil would be appreciated... other than the tip of not buying it in the first place... I think my next grow (if there is one) will be an aero.

IT'S BIZNIS! harvested! brainstorm is super staff! lemon citrus smell and fruity taste! it's sssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooo ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaa aaaatttttttttt!!!!!!!!! from 100 points/ i gave 99! lol.....lol.....lol.......

Just a quick update. Plants are doing fine. 1 plant got a bit nute burned but it is recovering ok. A little yellower than the others. They are all other wise very healthy and green. 2 are still staggeringly larger than the others... almost looks like they are 4 or 5 days ahead of the rest. but all broke ground relatively same time and all the seeds were very close to the same size. The plants are still in the same branching stage as the smaller ones though... they are just shorter in height and diameter. Anyone got any answers as to why this might be ? Please feel free to comment and help so I may avoid this next time around... unless it is just luck. Thanks all for looking and even more thanks if you comment. I will post some pics tonight... Oh and that bucket of plants to the right in the pics up earlier on this post?> I put them into 12/12 last Friday. I put them with 5 23w cfls with a color of 2700k. I figure I will sex them, pull them males and wait til I rotate my brainstorms to 12/12 and move them back under the 600w HPS.
