Hey there everyone for the purpose of this journal you may call me Mr. Smith. I would like to welcome you all to my first indoor grow using cfl's and fluoros. All comments are more than welcome as i have only grown outdoor. Hope you enjoy and hopefully i can get some good feedback and improve my skillz. The next few posts will contain pictures and descriptions of each area of my setup.

My vegetation cabinet is quite basic but as i was on a very strict budget i had to shop wisely.

The cabinet is 54" in length x 14" in width. From lights to bottom of cabinet is about 24".

For lighting i found 2 dual 4' t8 shop lights on sale for 3.98!!! At my local Lowes.

I also purchased 4 6500k tubes for 5 bucks a pack.

So for my veg cabinet i spent no more than 20$

The first two pics are of the cab itself, 3rd is of my little ones just after breaking soil, the last is one at 2 weeks.

For my flowering area i used a large walk in closet. It is about 4'x5' in which i utilize a space approx 1.5'x 4'.

I have a dual window fan with one blowing past the lights and the other on the plants.

For lighting i also had to shop wisely.

I purchased (2) 4 packs of 23w 2700k cfls putting out 1600lum ea. 5.97 a pack.

I also purchased (1) 4 pack of 23w 3500k cfls putting out 1450lum for 5.97.

To mount the lights i only needed 5 sockets as i already had some. 2 bucks a peice for a total of 10$

A timer was needed to insure a steady 12/12 light cycle so it was also purchased. 6 bucks.

Misc supplies including tape and wire nutz cost me about 5 bucks.

The total purchase cost for the flower room was no more than 45$

Currently i have 4 female plants 1 1/2 weeks into 12/12 @ about 1' 4". These were my test plants grown under far worse lighting conditions until i built my setup.

From now on i will be introducing all my plants into 12/12 at just 2 weeks as to better utilize the cfl's.

Here are the pictures of my children...

They are all grown in a mixture of just dirt and my homemade compost. The young ones are in SUPER GHETTO pots i made out of computer paper and tape. I know i know ill get around to it, just no $$ for pots just yet.

I water them every single day but dont get them too saturated.

For nutes i am only using mg superbloom at about 1/2 strength

Pic 3 and 8 are my future babies mamas. one is a clone i took off my first female and the other i stuck back into reveg as soon as it showed sex.

If by the looks of my plants u have any suggestions/comments by all means post them, i am hoping for a decent crop and would welcome any help. THanks for checking me out, ill update probably 2 times a week with new pics.

Thanks DrGreen im pretty happy with the results so far. It does seem soooooo slow though.. (maybee cuz all i do is smoke and look at the plants LOl)

Thanks WinkDOGG i wanted to have lotsa lights like u but money ran short( had to buy some herb till mines ready ya dig) And dam he is the man!! A harvest every couple o wseeks is just what im goin for!! Only thing is im runnin outta seeds and i cant clone for shit!!! I took six cuts from my first lady and only the one made it

Hey man. Congrats! You thought things out in your setup it seems. And did some research, and now you've got a bunch a lady's. +Rep for doing your own leg work.

TIP. Cloning should be easy. Key points to sucess......Peat Pucks. Hands down. Or Jiffy Pucks As i've heard. Get some. And some root gel or powder. (gel is better). Cut's at 45 degrees, and take off about a 1/4 inch of skin from the outside on onside above the cut. Dip it in the Gel. Stick it in the Peat Puck. Keep it wet and HUMID for a few week's. It hasn't fail'd me once.
