Default 2nd CFL Grow: Kali-Dream + Mazar-I-Shariff
Here is my second closet grow attempt.

I had 10 non-fem kali-dream seeds and received 5 non-fem Mazar-I-Shariff freebies also. I chose to germinate 5 seeds from each strain.

Within 48 hours all ten seeds were plantable by my standards. My fox farm soil is late in the mail so I planted the sprouts in miracle grow's organic potting soil and watered them.

After 24 hours under 5 26watt daylight cfls, I picked the 8 healthiest looking seedlings and nig rigged a mount (shown in the first two pics) for the remaining cfls, which are still 26 watt daylight. I put the other two seedlings (one from each strain) in a window sill as control/experiment plants. I don't know why I do this, it's comforting to know you have room to screw up I guess.

After the initial 24 hours of light, the 8 chosen ones were placed in the rig for 24 more hours of light. So the seedlings experienced 48 continuous hours of light in total. After 48 hours the light schedule was switched to 16/8. The seedlings have been under 16/8 for about 12 hours now. The pics are current and are from just over 60 hours from planting. The first four plant pics are the Kali-dream and the next four are the Mazar-I-Shariff. The last pic is a side view of one of the KD.

All comments are welcome. Please just keep the criticism in a friendly tone.

I spent my day researching and stumbled upon the banana technique. Evidently the gas emitted by ripening bananas contains ethylene, which is used to encourage females in other plants. I going to follow what this fellow did here.

Since I can't fit whole bananas in the solo cups I am going to simply cut the naners in half. I plan to replace the bananas when the exposed fruit turns black and mushy or until most of the skin is black. I am going to only use this technique on half the plants (I can only take care of 4 max anyway) and see if there is a difference.

Default good ol anners
the gas in the bananas is released as the banana rots so you have to leave it in there untill its start to breakdown (mushy) also i am pretty sure the peel is all that is really needed, so leave the fruit out unless you have heard different. at the first signs of fruit flies remove promptlly!

i am making a banana-egg-b2 super food for my plants i will post results!

Excellent, I actually only have the peels in there because I ate the banana this morning. The peel is pretty black and mushy already too so that's good. How about apples? They release more gas according to this
Can you put just the skins in? Or should I just cut up the whole apple.
Good luck with the food I hope you get results for your efforts.
