JD's Ice Cream and the Pure first grow

Hey everyone,
I'm writing this journal kinda late but its cool real stoners are never on time

.

When I germinated my seeds (5 fem Ice Cream, 2 The Pure) I took a tupperware and put damp paper towl down you know the deal i'm sure. after they were in I put plastic wrap over the top poked a few holes over top and put on top of my cable box inside my entertainment center. 20 hours later they were ready for soil. I used a 400w MH the whole time. The first month and a half the humidity stayed around 30-40% temps were between 80-85° during the day and a nice steady 70° at night.
I started off using distilled reverse osmosis water, at the time I thought it was PH balanced at 7.0 (stupid me) and also didn't realize the importance of a PH tester (You'll see in a bit why i'm bringing this up lmao) They took a few days to sprout but I think I made it harder for them cause I was reading a thread about root tip up and think I made a mistake lol. Happy little girlies right?

Haha part 2 (weeks 2-3)

Hello again,
I'm gonna do this in 2 week sections, well week 2 they are looking good, can you notice some of the lower leaves looking light? If so thats the start of my PH problem. After a couple weeks I started using tap water, which has a PH of 8.4. I watered my plants a couple times with it 8.4, after I watered them a couple times like that the lower leaves were turning yellow as you can see in the pics. So I went to the fish store and got PH tester (the dropper kind) The PH card rated from shades of blue instead of red, yellow, etc.. Tried using it a few times but ended up going on ebay and getting a digi (Best..Investment...Ever...) I'm guessing the 8.4 PH (high alkaline) made some kind of salt build up locking out nutes, but I transplanted them 6 into 3 gallon pots and 2 (the smallest ones) into 1 gallon pots and gave them 7.0 water. YaY!!!!

(Week 4-5)

Ok so the transplant was successful!! Its now week 4 (all pics are from week 5) The plants are looking healthy and growing at a higher rate them before. They are starting to smell good too! Week 5 I started up on nutes using GH's Flora Nova Grow 1/2 strength. Can you say Pretty girlies!?!

Well just about all caught up (I wont be so lazy next grow

) They have been doing great. Today I switched them to flower, i'm gonna have to get used to looking at them with the HPS bulb now lol. Temps been staying at 81° Humidity is a little high but dehumidifier is in the mail on its way here

. I'm excited I've had fun growing so far its such a shame marijuana is looked down upon still. Thanks everyone who helped me this point. Your advice is great!!

Edit: All have female preflowers (I knew the Ice Cream were gonna have em but The Pure were regular. Now just have to cross my fingers for no hermies

Just took some pics today with the new HPS bulb in. Its gonna take a while for me to get used to it lmao. I snunk in a couple minutes before the HPS kicked on and used my ceiling light (just regular light bulb) The green on all the plants looked beautiful, they are happy and healthy so far!

But anyway got a few nice pics (this is not the real colorn of the plants lmao)

(2nd week into flowering)
Hermies! Oh Nooo's!! Yes 2 of them turned out to be hermies. It was 2 of The Pure strain (non feminized), but its ok I still have 1 healthy female from that strain and my 5 Ice Cream girlies. I was thinking if I was to sell clones off the Ice Cream plants I could say "Wanna buy some Ice Cream Clones?" Yeah sounds cheesy but i'm stoned and think its funny lmao. Its been a great growing experience so far. Now for the pics, The light is now 9'' from the tops of the plants (well the ones directly under the light that is

) I was trying to get a good pic to see some green on the leaves thats why it looks weird in some lol But they are doing great, white hairs are growing all over. I've been using GH's Flora Nova series Grow and Bloom for nutes. When I started flower I gave them half strength, Sunday I just gave them a good watering and for my next feeding will be giving full strength with unsulphured mollasses. Due to the weather my room has stayed between 75-78°, humidity has been a tad on the high end (between 60-70%) Got some rock salt for now to help out but gonna buy a dehumidifier off ebay when I get a little more flow.

Ok so fed them thursday gave them full strength nutes and 1tsp of molasses per gallon (Should of been 1tbl/gal I know I was high they'll get more next feeding

) . Pulled a couple out to check on em away from the HPS so I could see the real color, the green looks beautiful on them. I can see little buds forming and hairs all over.

I only wish I could of had some extra money to get my other room going and the other things I need. I only had 3 "The Pure" plants and 2 turned hermie

, would of loved to get some clones off the one but its cool. My next grow theres gonna be 2 rooms, maybe make one indica and 1 sativa lol. One lesson I learned or actually learning is having multiple strains in 1 room. Now it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't pick a 60% indica strain for the one kind and a 75% sativa for the other lmao

. I knew what they were that from the start though and its not really a problem so far. I plan to bend and stake the sativa

, for now at least even though its not that bad yet it'll still help it get closer and face the light better

The pics with the hps off: the plants are darker, flash is never my friend

and the 2 little ice are starting to change color already. Do you think its cause they are smaller then the other Ice Cream's?

hey man, im thinkin about pickin up some ice cream seeds to store for a while...how was your germ rate? they are lookin good, any updated pics?
