Widow Cindy, ebb and flow in rockwool from seed. The Epic.

Hello RIU! My first journal. Couldn't have done it without you! Never new I could have had this much fun either. Growing, I had only vaguely imagined, could be this fun. Hehe.

I heard myslef exclaim "root porn!" the other day. Lol. Another day I absentminedly picked up a cactus and smelled it. Rofl.

First about me. I am a medical grower. My nerve damage leaves me in constant pain. For the past few years I have been a heavy opiate patient. I am going Zombie. Screw that. For the first few years it sure was fun lol. Now, no way.

I used to smoke in high school with med patients. So i got my card and figured I'd dust the pipe off. Happy camper time.

About the grow. This is not my only grow. Currently I got 3 northern lights 4 weeks to the day in flower. Vegged them 5. I went for that germ 12 end up with 6 CA deal and I got three, lol. DAMN,

. That's another story though.

About this grow. I got 2 widow cindy seeds. The gods of medical marijauna blessed me. Rofl.

-16 hour soak in 24 hour tapwater. Almost cracked as I pulled them out the glass.
-set up my seed dome seed tray (w/o insert) on a seed heat mat. Climate controlled cab at 75-80 degrees. 2 seeds went, en-shrouded in a wet paper towel onto a small plate with a coffee cup over it. In the seed tray i poured some water with a little h202 in it to keep the environment humid and clean.
-24 hours later both seeds had nice taproots.
-I planted them taproot down in 1.5 in rockwool. Presoaked and soaked with a little h202 and superthrive. I left the holes in and made little rockwool covers. I want them to work as little as possible! As little hermoe risk as they need. I am not perfect and with murphys law being what it is my seeds need all the help they can get. Lol.
-About 24 hours later I had little sprouts with cotelydons unfolding.
-I removed the seed dome and heat mat and placed the blocks 5 inchs or so under a 10k htg t5. 6500k veg lights. Temps at 75 to 80. Using a space heater to keep winter out.

This is where we are now.

Kinda sad. One is doing healthy. The other is knida shirveled and the cotleydon leaves are closed and wilted looking. I have thought about this and cant tell if it from to hi heat or to low. Maybe a plant thing is all I can hope for. The other is doing good for day 2 I think.

I am a little worried that they are slow. But I am being me, over critical. Lol, I wont rest ever but I will be alot happier if I can get them into veg.

It is only 2 unsexed seeds. But I have northern lights I am trying to clone. I plan to ultimately, for a while at least, run widow cindy and northern lights together. S I fig I will just try a few widow cindy at a time on the side of the northern lights for fun. Wish my ass some luck.

I plant to complete veg under either the t5, a 400 watt mh, or a 600 watt. Currently I am still getting setup. I have been only growing a few months. I got a 4x4x6.5 tent. A 400 watt hps/mh. A 6 inch 430 cfm inline attached to a euro hood and charcoal filter for exhaust. A 6 in duct booster intake. A 4 inch fan filter combo. A 10k lumen t5. A space heater. Fan. I plan during this grow to increase to wither a 600 or 1000 for flower. And to use the 400 for veg. I am using a 3x3 Botanicare ebb table in the tent and 4 in rockwool blocks in 5.25 turbogarden pots with mini cubes to make the diference up. I have gh 3 part nutes with flora micro hardwater, kool bloom, hydroguard, and bloombastic.

If I can get these widow cindy into veg they will go from these 1.5 rw blocks into 4 in rockwool blocks. There I will place them into an ebb and flow system.

First things first. Get them into veg and hope for at least one female. Worry about the northern lights somewhere else. Rofl.

I should add this. I recently lost a fem cheese seed due to adding a quarter strength of seed str nutes to the mix. A joke dose. Either that or the cold which I ignored got her. Pissed I was.

Also outa my three NL in flower only 1 is healthy. 2 were badly damaged by nutes. Outa 12 only 2 were damged but these 2 were part of my only 3 female! Ow.

So needless to say I am going to baby these babies like they were playmates. Models, actresses. Whatever. Lol.

your odds are not good.

You might get a male.

If you do ,
maybe you can cross to the NL
on one bud
and make a few hybrid beans
of your own.

Hello all.

Yeah, I am aware I might get a male. But with the random traffic I get I want to stick to my limit. I have told no one but the women in this area are all crazy, and I love it, ladies. Rofl.

What I am hoping is this is a side breeding project where I can veg some on the side of northern lights, like one or two, until I get x number of females to run with my NL.

Cloning. That's a messed up subject. The first time I went to clone I took 6 cuttings and imagining failure I dunked them in a coffee can with a bubbler air stone some superthrive and ro water and I got 6 sets of roots in a week.

2nd time I went out i went for rockwool and 30 norhtern lights clones. I did everything right, except they got too little water in the beginning. I corrected this with to much water and lost the whole crop.

Right now I got 2 northern lights clones I took 2 weeks into flower where I had to clip the bud off. I reverted to a dwc cloner with a massive amount of air. A coffe can. I hope one of these makes it and will go into a waterfarm to become a NL mother. If not I will reveg and try then. I dont want to start all over.

Although fem seeds right now might be better idea. I am pretty good at germing. Lol. not real hard though. It has been 10 days for the dwc cloner I got going now. Nothing. I got suerthrive, h202, and 24 tapwater and conditions around 70-80. It keeps freezing at night but I got a space heater trying to keep it at least over 80.

I am hopeful I will get a female outa the widow, if not now then in 7 weeks or so.

Oh yeah, last night it got sown to 70 for my sprouts, but they still alive.

Its funny, i had full roots at 10 days lst time I cloned. It was over 90 every day outside and I had only a little suerthrive. No cloning gel, no h202. Cake.

Now it freezing aoutside but I got them in 70 to 80 box. Mostly 75 when I am home. I can inly hope.

Sprouts I hope like this temp. Boring waiting.

I assume you are using a plastic container,
metal cans can be a problem.

Warm temps are good for cloning,
but a problem later after you have roots.

Cloning gels are a waste.

I use RO water nuted to 200 ppm and pHed to 5.6

I spray my cuts to increase the DO(Dissolved Oxygen)

Bubbles like you are using will work also.

The cloner is almost a joke now gents. It is a coffee cup actually with a coffee can lid. 1 clone. Mostly i hope but doubt. I losing my cloning touch. All practice clones from bagseed were no big deal at all. All roots. CAke. I fig now i just might have to wait it out and reveg and clone a girl.

Sad I thought I would have 6 veggers ready to go in a month for replacing my current grow/harvest. Lol, a little setback.

Anyway, my widow cindys look the same. I will post pics ina second. Day 3 and no change. I am a little sad as I scan a soil grow and day 3 has leaves out.

I have done this before. Twice. Once in soil and then in rw last time without a flaw with 12 NL and Mazar afghan. I forget ho exactly. I remember watering the cubes every day and they grew fine. It was much hotter out. I have the heater at 76. Maybe some clear party cups over the cubes. I did do that last time.

You guys use the notepad function. I do, mine is lng, i gotta reread. Reads like trial and error on steroids and wow am I a dreamer it seems as I read. Hope it all ends in succeess. I am sure it will. At my age I got some patience. lol. It not lirk I can stop.

I am trying not to switch over to all marijuan until I harvest my first crop. This month pain pill were needed more than usual and it looks like I will have a few withdrawl days. No big deal it happens but lame! I got some smoke.
