So this is my first grow ever, Ive spent a couple months on here reading before I started so I kind of know what Im doing. Feel free to critique me at any time but please be constructive, dont just tell me they look like shit cause it hurts my feelings and theirs. Tell me what I need to be doing instead.

Heres my set up:
1 Dresser hollowed out, 14in x 33in x 40in, wrapped completely in mylar
1 Squirrel Cage Exaust with a Y-split connector for greater surface area pull out. (passive intake)
4 42w CFLS and 2 23w 6400k for vegging, havent gotten the flowering ones yet.
3 plants, one is a strawberry haze, and the other two are OG purps. These were some seeds left over from chron bags boughten.
1 fan hanging in my grow room to shake my plants around.

The settup works like this, I have the hollowed out dresser in my closet which is blocked off by a computer desk and a mini fridge, so that it looks like im just not using it. However I can get in the closet if i jump the fridge. I made mad modifications to this dresser. It looks like a normal dresser from the front but the back panel has been taken off and put onto hindges so i can open it when needed. It has 2 sliding bolts and a lockable hinge so only I can get in. The squirrel cage is mounted to a wooden brace that runs along the back and pumps massive amounts of air through a hole in the back door. When closed the back side of the dresser is drapped with black lawn covering faberic to stop light going in or out.

So i was late starting this journal and this post is dirrectly after my first one but heres the update.

My germ went great, the 2 purps germed the best, but the strawb was good to. They were put into the ground and put under lights for 24/0 and have been running for 13 days. the Purps I named H1 and H2, and the strawb is P1 (names are yet to be decided so).

I watered them for the first 10 days with just distilled water with a single drop of super thrive in it, and have now switched over to distilled water that is on a fox farm schedule (Grow Big, and Big Bloom right now).

H1 is doing the best, it showed the first sprout at day 3 in the ground and has grown like a weed ever since. H2 follows in second and P1 being a little runt in 3rd. The fox farm nutes have seemed to be picking up the pace of the little ones though so im excided about that.

Im only running the four 42w cfls right now, I havnt decided on when to add the other two 23w yet.

So i did work last night, i added 4 more chains in the box so that way the round fan would hang on its own, and i could hang more lights in there. I added the two 23w as well and dropped all my lights down a little closer to the plants. Pictures show the new room set up. H2 started new nodes so i threw a pic on of it too.

BUT!!!! I found today that H1 somehow got a leaf partially broken, the 4th and 5th picture shows the area that got broke, it doesnt look to bad its only part of the fan but i dont know how it will affect it.

Will this hurt it a lot???? Please say no.

Changed watering amounts today, H1 has been drooping a bit but it looked a little more perky when i got home from work. still just hoping on that fan rip though....

Count me in as subscribed for your journal Rooter . Your plant shouldn't be affected too much by that breakage, your plant is in it's most forgiving stage right now and it will have no problem bouncing back if you give it a little love. I'm running a similar grow right now in a hollowed out speaker with a Haze genetic. How did the plants react with the subtle hit of Superhtrive? Did they respond quickly? Great progress at this point my friend

P.S. Keep lights as close as you can (an inch or two max) to promote more bushiness, less stretch. The babies will thank you

Thanks for the response man, the rip hasnt seemed to affect it much luckily. The superthrive worked great durring the germ only took a couple days for inch long tails on a heating pad, and Im going to use it to for a foliage spray as well. Just a drop in a gallon is suppose to keep the fan leafs nice and bright.

Hey Rooter just saw the thread and as a fellow CFL'r will def keep my eye out. Cool set up man! Things look good. The low to the soil leafing is GREAT! Dont worry about that leaf rip its nothing. Worse things happen in the wild and will not hinder the plant at all. I would be very careful with early nuting. To be honest young plants dont need much. for the first month actually i would just keep it to light, air and water. If you do want to add anything i STRONGLY suggest looking into organics. I have used a variety in nutes and have found the most sucess in all stages with organic stuff. Worm castings and blood meal are great. When there young they need N mostly which im sure u know. the set up looks great and should sustain ur plants health. I will def keep my eye out on this one.
