Hey all,

Just thought I would start up a new grow journal for my 3rd attempt.

Here is the newly sprouted seedling I started to germinate about 3 days ago.

It is a 100% feminized Medusa strain.

I will be updating this thread every 2 - 3 days Up untill the day of harvest.

Wish me luck! :joint::mrgreen:

It is going good, I Just transplanted it to the dwc tank.

Here is a pic of both just the plant, and my setup.
She is under the light dropped to the tank.

Also, I have not introduced any nutes yet. The little thing is only a few days old. hehe.

Yo I am growing some medusa too. I was like 5 weeks into veg (under flouros and cfls) and she showed her sex. My girl has some huge leaves and stalks. Good choice of strain and good luck on your grow.

Thanks man.

I have been saving the medusa seeds for a while now. My first two attempts = failed.

The first attempt was me noobing it up, and killing it with nutes, and poor soil. :dunce:

The next attempt was in this very DWC setup, and over all went very well, but it turned out to be male about 2 weeks into flowering. :wall: ( and man did it get big, lots of potentail bud sites.)

So after that, I decided that 1. no more soil (me + soil = dead plant). and 2. don't use bag seed ( too unpredictable if you are looking for good smokes).

That is why I have the Medusa Fem growing now.

Yeah, I think everyone learns by making a bunch of mistakes. I made a big mistake recently that was topping my Medusa plant twice. Now, i dont think im going to get a coda bud at all, and I might not get as much bud as i would have if i had not topped the plant at all. Normally, I top plants once, but this time I took clones off the main stem after topping. Immediately afterwards I realized that i was a high idiot and need to stay out of my grow room when blazed. Good call not growing bagseed anymore. It def is a waste of energy and time. better to wait for good seeds and focus all attention on making superior plants.

cool, that is perfect. I don't have a tall growing space, so indica would be good. Not only that, but isn't indica more potent in the THC levels ?

Ya, but Sativas generaly have a higher CNB and CND levels. (psychoactive cannabinoids)

An easy way to tell the difference by looking at the plant -

Sativas usualy have thinner finger like fan leaves, while indicas show thicker broad leaves.

Ok guys, here is the next update.

So far, I have not added any nutes, but this friday I will be adding the first nutes. I checked the root system just now, and it looks like it is quite a healthy plant so far.

Lights: 18/6 (1X 100W 27W equiv CFL w/reflector. I will be getting a 400W HPS ballast ether this paycheck or next)

PH: Don't know. (I am waiting till friday to get some test strips, but I will be getting a digital ph meter soon. I understand that ph is very important for hydro, but seeing as my last grow had no visable problems with ph using just tap water, I think I can afford to hold off on the strips a little longer at least.)

Plant is on its 2nd node now (3 bladed leaves)

Let me know how it is looking guys.
Any opinions, and or tips are always appreciated.

Oh yeah, looks beautiful. Its about to grow a bunch. Make sure you got those CFLs pretty close, it looks like it may be stretching to one side to get at some light. Putting a cfl directly over it about 5 inches away ensures it gets a lot of light right now during its growth spurt.

If you want a ph meter you should go to ACE hardware or its equivalent and get a "soil test kit" which is this tube you put the soil in with some water and it will turn a certain color according to what your ph is. the best thing about them is that they are only a dollar, so buy three.

Add those nutes slowly. burning babies is bad business. keep it up.

I would think that you could test your solution in a kit like that as well, since it is working on the same principal. It should not matter that you are not using soil.

Ok, well so much for this attempt. Cops took my little baby, but guess i was lucky they didn't book me.
On a lighter note; Cops aren't that bad. They were nice about it, and even asked me all these questions about how my setup works, and what it takes to grow like that ha-ha.

Over all I was more surprised that they didn’t just throw me in jail just going off of all the horror stories I have heard about how marijuana is treated like crack in Utah. I mean I didn’t even get a fine, although they did take my pipes. (100$ worth of glass).
