Hello All! This is my first grow journal, and my 2nd overall grow. My first time was a set-up quite similar to this, but I only had a veg closet and I never ended up flowering the 3ft tall plants I had because of time constraints.

A little about my setup:

Dimensions (approx.) - 5(L)x2(W)x8(H) = 80 cu. ft.

The pictures will explain all, really. At the moment I have my veg closet pretty much 100% set-up. The only thing I will be changing is closing off the exhaust system to the room and moving the exhaust fan to a hanging position (no vibration) in the attic, once I actually have to use it - because right now it's winter and the temps won't be going over 80F in the closet.

For the veg closet I have 144w of T5 HO fluoros. 3x24w red spectrum bulbs and 3x24w blue spectrum bulbs. These babies are SUPER cool. I can pretty much keep my hand on them and I won't get burned. I have a 5 Gallon res of water, which I just use a 5 gallon jug that we get sent to the house (regular purified drinking water). I have a 245 gph (I believe) pump that pumps the water into a 2x4 table that I modified to include 2 drainage holes on each side. Right now I'm using 1/4 strength Botanicare PureBlend Pro Grow on my seedlings, which are about 10 days old or so. My exhaust is a cheap 256cfm booster (160 stand-alone) in-line duct fan...but I'm not using that until summer-ish - but it is hooked up in case I need it - it vents directly through the attic and out the top of the roof. I have an oscilating fan in the room, and a passive light-trap intake I made out of cardboard. Behind the closet door I have black poly that I basically made as a 2nd door, with 1 flap for the res and another to access the lights/plants. This set-up is about 98% stealth. I'm pretty sure that no light is getting in, but a very tiny bit of light is getting out - you can tell when it is pitch black in the room and u stare right at the closet. Otherwise, its virtually silent, and a great set-up so far.

I will have updated pics and posts, and when I start setting up my flower room (with 400w hps with carbon filter and aircooled hood [pulling air will be a 400+ cfm inline fan in attic]) I'll have pics as well. I plan on having a perpetual grow once I flower these Nirvana strains (I'm just using these strains because I have plenty of them and I wanna get an idea of how the system works before I start using the good genetics - of which I only have 1 seed of each strain )

2 PPP's are in front, 1 Snow White in the back and the other off to the right (retard runt). All are about 16 days from germination.

I'm a little concerned about the temps getting too low during the winter....but I might be able to correct it by turning up the heat a little in the room the closet is in (the bedroom). Right now the bedroom temp is about 66 degrees (I know it can go higher).

P.s. - They are starting to give off a faint smell...nothing strong, just a lively plant-like smell.

P.p.s. - I've gone to full-strength nutes + some calmag now.

lol...great looking grow, holmes! it's all biomechanical and shit, to me; each plant has a couple tubes, but they all snake about like the matrix...

...I just smoked, but damn! that looks great! what's your total investment, so far?

i wish I woulda studied more cats like yourself before investing like I did. i'm a few grand into a stealth garage system...also with the 'is it too cold?' ambient air intake issue...

what fun tho, eh? marijuana engineering 101. i'm hoping to get an 'A'...

Mistakes happen when you fail to properly ventilate the room when using a bong. SHIT! Mine didn't come with an MSDS or instructions...

I started 2 Nirvana PPP and Snow Whites on 09/24/08. As this is my first grow, I wanted plants that a lot of people had already cultivated. I went with a coco medium in my E & F, and am feeding them GH Flora nutes every three hours. I think I want to try rockwool on my next grow, and will follow yours for tips.

Just kiddin man, looks good.

My girls( I hope) are about 45 days into veg from seed, and I have one purple kush clone in there (the tallest). I have been doing more R & D (Research & Development - my favorite term lately...). I am just about to insert the screen to allow horizontal growth, and a couple weeks after that I will switch to flower.

I also have a small area for vegging but haven't set it up yet. As soon a I clip the clones from the three plants I have in my grow, I will get that up and running. I'm just happy to have my gear all running and working like a charm, amazing!!!

My setup is 98% stealth even though I am allowed to grow legally (according to local laws), but I don't want a hassel in my condo complex.

If you have any question that I can help with, ask away. I'm new here, but I read a lot.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll check out all of your grows for sure after work. But for now, another picture update. They're just about 20 days old...maybe 21. To reiterate, this is just a test run thru the system to make sure things are A-OK.

I'm starting to get a tiny bit of nute burn I think...after switching over to full-strength. May have been a little bit too early to do that...but I'll monitor them closely and make adjustments.

Hahaha yea man it's definitely a matrix grow. By the way those movies are the shit!

My total investment? Well.....I've spent a lot..and I'm STILL not done because I'm just about to buy the things I need for the flower room (in-line fan, carbon filter, air-cooled 400w hps system, more mylar maybe, a planter (or mixing tub), etc).

Basically...I paid about $50 for my 4x2 planter - $99 each for veg lights (3x) - $100+ on nutrients - $25 for mylar - $25 for black poly - $50 for 2x clip-on oscillating fans - about $75 in water pumps - a $25 duct fan - a total of like $300 already on some quality genetics - and then add on for things like zip ties, 2x 18 gallon rubbermaid resevoirs, hooks n chains, water tubing, exhaust tubing, hydroton, rockwool cubes out the ass lol, drainage nozzles, irrigation hook-up, etc. Well over $1,000 when all is said and done...maybe closer to $1500 when I get my flower room all situated. You gotta pay to play baby! (*Note that all the veg stuff I basically bought a few years ago)

Thanks cheetah! Yea, if anything I shouldn't be using full strength nutes (not sure why I did in the first place - novice error). Well I'm into my 4th week now...so i'm just gonna let it ride out lol. Maybe add a lil more water in there to dilute the nutes.
