well dont know what happened, all growth stopped... the 2 that came through stopped and turned brown. maybe pH? ordered meter and will see.

I think cheese is done...

Also bought some 'Early Bud' seeds from Nirvana at growshop, sprouted in 2 days with paper towel. 5 seeds total.

2 planted yesterday and the rest will be done this afternoon.

I have the same setup as with the cheese, but cleaned the entire space and No nutes.
400w HPS
closet 2x3x5'
pH'd water (got a kit from a friend until mine arrives)

Also bought a ICE clone from the shop!!

Too bad the Cheese didn't make it. I started growing with coco about 8 months ago and love it. Also 400 watt HPS. I was going to say something was off with the Cheese when I read the first post. Usually my seeds sprout within 24 hours of being planted. Not very surprising they didn't make it. What ph water are you using? If I could make one suggestion, when you water you want to soak the whole cup, not just the middle. By wetting just the middle the roots will not be encouraged to grow throughout the whole cup. Just soak it down real good, then lift up the cup every day. Dry coco weighs next to nothing. When it feels like you're picking up an empty cup it is time to soak it down again.

Cool, thanks for the tip. the ph is 6.5 going in... since only drops made it through before, i dont know on the way out, will see now with your suggested watering method

ya I bought the cheese with a friend who had smoked it and the guy at the shop said was nice. the friend also had no luck with the seeds, they were over a year old and dont know where he stored em...

will keep updating!!

DAY 8

8 plants as of now, the 2 clones are well, as are 5 of the early bud seeds. 2 early buds are bit ahead of the rest. One early bud seems to have dried up(not in photo), will leave it, and see. also in the pic, the top right has deformed a bit, any thoughts??

I went back and saw you're putting in 6.5 ph. I've found that 6.0-6.2 is optimum for veg in coco. Some strains will start to consume more acid late in flower. I've had some that I had to drop to 5.5 ph for the feed. You're right, it's very important to get enough runoff to test for ph.

Thanks Mared, will adjust ph on next watering.

well I decided until they show sex, the babies will be named after countries...
the 5 'Early Bud' are: Germany, Austria, England, Portugal and Monaco.
The 'Ice' clone is Switzerland
The 'Peacemaker' clone is representing all of Europa!!!!:peace:bongsmilie

one thing of concern is that i knocked over one of the plants, roots were exposed (looking good) put it all back but that is not the problem:evil: I saw some TINY little pale white(or clear) bugs in the soil... could not get on film? mites??? they dissapear when exposed to the light, as I was going through.

and some pics of the babies....

Do they look like tiny, tiny little white woodlice??

They sound like springtails to me, totally harmless to your plants, they help break down the soil.

Ive always had them without any problems............

I think so, plus there is no sort of webbing or residue... just the lil buggers running around the soil

Thanks Londoner!!!!

You've got the UN of weed there! Or is it EU? IDK but they're looking well. Do be careful with the roots. It's a lot easier for the plant to repair bent branches than ripped roots, at least in my experience. I've had one of my strongest plants go quickly to the runt because I carried it too high through a doorway and caught the top and pulled the entire plant halfway out of the coco. Don't know about the bugs. Sounds like Londoner has got it.

Do they look anything like this?

And do they come to the surface after watering?

Theres a few different species of springtail, but this is the most common one, and they rarely venture any further than the pot/soil.
