Hello Everyone at my local stoner community.

I wanted to share my new growing set-up and also maybe get some help along the way.

I have built a 2 chamber grow box. The entire thing is 36"x16"x32", just about 4 sq/f. One side will be for vegging and the other for flowering, allowing me to grow/clone/experiment.
I would like to keep the whole grow with CFL because heat is a major problem in my compact grow. I have on the one side (active vegg side) 3 100w 5600k and 2 150w 3500k Cfls. According the the mfgs rating im getting about 10,000 lumens. The vegg side is only about 16" x 16" .

I have built a bubble system using a container large enough for 1 gallon and 4 plant stations. I will be using GH nutirients and the LUCAS formula (it looks good from what I have seen).

The strain is a Northern Lights from the Nirvana banks and the seed were germinated in a jar with a towel.

I hadent gotten all the elements for my grow but I decided to start anyway and fix whatever I fuk up along the way. On the seeds, the tap root sprouted and i planted the seeds in a cup with some dirt. After a few days they pooped out of the dirt and began to see the sun (CFL's) for the first time. I got all my stuff together and dig the tap root out of the soil and planted the seedling in a rockwool cube and the Hydroton rocks.

I dont have any real initial readings because my PPM meter has not arrived yet.
For the first nutrient bath, I used a 1/2 strength 0-5-10 (0ml-2.5ml-5ml G-M-B) and added some more water to thin it out. I filled the Res and turned everything on.

So I present to you my babies. Let me know what you all think and ill try to keep you posted bi-weekly with updates and photos. Thanks for all your help and hopefully I can get these to fruition

I got my ppm meter today so now I can do some real readings. I also decided to germ some Snow White seeds. grow one in my extra space and one in a small pot? Why not. I ordered more light bulbs and a nice opaque plastic bin big enough for my flowering chamber. Hopefuly it comes soon and I can finally be set up.
Hey guys if you stop by leave a comment. I dont have many people to talk to about my babies so I would love to get into this community. Ill get you some more pictures tomorrow. Oh I also set the rockwool cubes a bit lower in the net pots and build shades for the top of the netcup to block the light. Having a blast. I want to have them all be girls. It so sad to have to put one (or two) down.

Anyone else starting a grow around the same time?

cubes should be all the way to bottom of the net pots maybe 1 pebble layer between bottom and rockwool cubes

Week 3

So i went on a Biz trip for a week to the south. I met a guy who had a plantation of medical weed and he gave me some nice tips and a few seeds to get my own "clinic" going. Im looking forward to getting them big.

As for my grow, I think everything seems to be ok. Last week, I took the rockwool out and dropped it lower into the net cup. Also, I noticed some green funk growing on top of the cubes. I made little black circles out of some blackfoil and covered the tops. I used some extra hydroton to cover it as well. All the funk seems to of gone so a small situation has been thwarted.

I changed the nutes out. I was running at about 70ppm with plainwater, a super diluted nutes solution +superthrive. I took at look at the roots and the are now dropping out of the cups. I lowered the water an mixed up a solution 300pp with the Lucas formula +superthrive and now im running at 5.5-5.7ph.

I had also started a seedling of Snow White because one of my Northern Lights sprouts diddent make it. I let the SW germinate in a rockwool and put in in my bubbler. I covered it with a black card until i saw it pop out the top of the cube BUT i noticed i maybe left the blackcard on too long and the seedling stretched out around the side!!!! so i poked a hole and "fed" the now 5" tap root thru the middle of the rockwool. I diddent know if this was a good idea but a week later, the seedling is looking great.

Im still going to run things like this for another week and then maybe ill boost up the nutes a bit?
My question for the group is "does anyone have a week to week schedule of nutes and what the ppms should be week to week. From seedling to bloom?" i dont want to burn my children.

Also some of the lower leaves on the sporuts are turning yellow on the tips. I think this is normal as the plant loses it baby leaves. Maybe ill slip a quarter under its pillow!!!!

Im back in town now so il be able to watch my babies better. I would like to do a LST but im a newbie so hopefully all the info Ive been reading will help out. i know i have another week or two before i can start giving them some bootcamp.

I took a look today and the roots are geting kinda nice BUT ive noticed some browning on them? if im using the Lucas method and add a bit of H2O2 will that help me roots? how much do i add per gallon. I dont want to get nutrient lockout with the H2O2 and the GH nutes?

So it looks like no ones reading my post OR I am doing everything perfectly. Oh well. Ill just keep posting and someday someone will see.

So i got bored the pther night and decided to tweak some things. I redid my res. New nutes ,water, and a good scrub. I wanted the roots to get some real air for a while. So for about an hour I let them breathe. I upped my PPMs from 300-500 because i think they can handle it from what i have read. I lined the box with some new silver. I also redid the fan exhause/intake.

So i guess my babies REALLY liked the spruce up because they practically EXPLODED!!!! im assuming they really were hungry and also the prior browning I mentioned in an earlier post seems to of gone away. So i think that this is day 17? Im so excited, Especially after seeing them jump up the way they did. its almost like having a baby, almost.

Things look good so far...a question...where did you get this 1 gallon tub from?

I probably wouldn't of went that strong with the nutes, but they are looking good so keep doing what your doing. I only noticed browning of my roots if they were exposed to air for too long. How far up do you have the water line in relation with the bottom of the net pot?

I tryed to back the nutes off a little. now they are at 400ppm. I think theres been some growth in all of them. also I have been noticing the water level drops quite alot during the week so i have been topping off with 50ppm water. The browning roots dissappeared so thats no longer a worry.

Oh and SmokerE the water level is about 1" below the potand the bubbles and fizz hit the top so i think they are getting good aeraton. Im now just worried about nute burn still. ill post more pics later of how the plants are. I still feel im at least 2 weeks away from flowering? anyone have any suggestions?
