Vet's first grow :)
This is my first grow attempt. I have been studying for a while and I've had some hands on experience from an old sailor I know. My main goal was to keep my plants bushy. I have a 2x Fem White Widow's and 2x Fem Northern Lights pictured at 3 weeks from seed. Another grow I have seen that started at the same time as mine is a lot taller and 50 percent less dense foliage growth. I don't know if I'm off to a good start or a bad one but I feel pretty good about my progress. I'm using a 600 watt MH cool tube for veg. I'm pulling 200 plus CFM from directly through the cool tube and out of my tent into a neutral area. I have only noticed one real mistake on my part (nutes mixed too heavy, full recovery) I would love any advice from some of the more experienced guys and gals on the site. PeacefulGuy

Looks good man, others may seem taller but you got some very tight node spacing and your light is probably closer than theirs.

Would you consider "tight node spacing" a desirable thing in early vegetative stage? I appreciate your encouragement.
Yes its good, she will stretch out during flowering, she looks good man just keep up the work.
Some have short height in growing space and tight node spacing is extremely important then

For my LST I don't like to use wires or twist ties though. I use bamboo skewers I put the skewers together with the tie. Then seperate the ends so it forms a V and put it in the soil where I want to bend the plant. That way there is nothing to cut into it. I would post a pic but my camera batteries just died and it takes a good couple of hours to re-charge them. If you would like I wll be happy to post a pic later.

If you can tell in the photos I have successfully topped each plant once between, I believe, it was the 3rd and 4th node. They seem to be doing great. I was unaware I could top once more. I believe I may be too far along for the training that is demonstrated in the LST video although I do want to attempt it in the future and I appreciate the reference. My stems are super thick and I don't see them bending like that at this point. Perhaps I am wrong, but I'm mostly intimidated by the thought of breaking one of my main stems! I appreciate the video's. Great help.
I thought the bending in the video was a bit severe myself. You don't need to go that far with it. Also you can bend a couple of nodes further up. If you're orried about breaking them, give them a good pinch to soften the tissue first before bending and do it a few hours after watering then they should be more flexible. This is what I was talking about earlier...
