Auto Garden Tub Grow Journal

Ok, This is my second grow. My first was bagseed and it went bad but I learned so much that I am down right cocky about this one. I am doing an ebb & flow with a CFL with B'Cuzz stonewool starter cubes and B'Cuzz Kubz. I have planted 3 reg Lowryder #2's, 1 auto lemon skunk, 1 auto blueryder, and 1 auto hindu skunk. I am a noobie and a student of da game so any suggestions are welcome. These picks are 5 days from seed. Here we go!

So, since this is my second grow and I still have a lot to learn and play around with, that being cocky stuff has been put in check already courtesy of mother nature. This is my first time using the stonewool cubes so I had to play around with the watering schedule and figure out just how much moisture stayed in the pots and for how long. I think the magic number is 15 min once a day. So, there is possibly some water stress going on with my ladies. I also used some Kubz to top off the pots and cover up the starter cubes to cut down on mold. Well, I didn't ph the handful of cubes that I put on the top so there maybe a little stress from that. I am using PuraVida Organics nutes and since I am hard-headed I started using light Grow nutes once they got past the seedling phase as well as using a couple of drops of Liquid Karma when I was prepping the starter cubes. So, I could possibly have a little nute burn going on. I take it as part of the learning phase and between this forum and listening to my plants I am learning a lot. I am trying to keep the light (CFL-200w 6500) as close as possible but I don't want them to be too small. It is all part of the process. I am going to be a master of this stuff when I am like 90 years old.

OK, here are pics of the ladies at 12 days from seed. I also threw in a pic of my garden tub set-up. It is the only place in my house that I have to work with and I am thankful for a wife that let me hijack the garden tub (the deal is that I have to be able to move it if we want to have a little garden tubb freaky-deaky.) So, you see my space limitations. After, some stress issues I think they are fighting back quite nicely. Other than the burn and the yellowing, it seems like the growth is about on par for 12 days from seed. We shall continue to grow and learn.

Lookin good man. Are you gonna be changing the light for flowering? I'm on day 17 now and I'm planning on changing my 6500 to 2700k lighting at day 21 or so. Also, switching from 24/0 to 20/4 (probably, though I'm still undecided).

I am going to have to stick with what I have for this run and just hope for the best. So, I am going to go with 20/4 with the 6500 for the whole grow.

So, day 15 from seed and the funk has started. I love this part. I told my wife last night that she should get ready for some odor control within the next several days and I be damned if she didn't wake up this morning and tell me that my girls were stankin. My BlueRyder is doing the best but I think I might see the start of some balls up under there. So, BlueRyder's days may be numbered. Hindu Kush is also doing great followed a little by Lemon Skunk. Now, the LR2's are the ones that have a significant amount of yellow and are pretty small compared to the others. I hope that in the end it means nothing but the science project continues. I have already decided to get larger pots for my next grow. The only reason I used the 5 x 5's was because they came with the system. I am also going to definitely go with the hydroten the next time(I was looking for it this time but they were out and I was impatient.) I also raised the light about 2 inches. We shall see.

So, day 21 from seed pics. The good news is that Hindu Kush(pic1) is doing great and I think she just might be a she. Nuff sed. Also, BluRyder(pic2) is definately a she and looks and smells great. Lemon Skunk(pic3) is a little bity thang but I think she will give me something that I can taste. As for the other 3, (the lowRyder #2's) it is not pretty. They all are struggling but at this point it does not hurt me to leave them in there and see what happens. I am already looking forward to the next grow with the hydroten. But for now, I think I am going to get something for my glaucoma(haha) from this grow which is alright. I can be a little more selective with my seeds with the next grow in that I am already planning to go with all female.

This has been an interesting week. The Hindu Kush is a beast. It is growing tall and looking great. The BlueRyder is also a beast. It is staying short and has pistils all over the place. The Lemon Skunk is staying in the fight. It is still comically short but is hanging in there and has a little bud growing. The LR2's are still pathetic and everyday I think "this is the day to trash them." However, everyday I see more signs of life and them trying to grow bud. So, I leave them in. I am loving watching different strains being grown in the same system and having completely different characteristics. In my search for my long-term strains of choice I have a new lesson to add to the list. Hindu Kush and BlueRyder do not need to be grown in the same system at the same time. Due to the height difference, it is hard to regulate the height of my light. On a good note, I had planned to get my grow of 6 down to 4 maybe even 3(due to taking out males or plants that just didn't make it) but it looks like I have at least 4 females and maybe even all six (a miracle.) So, the science project continues with all six. The only one that could cause a space problem is the Hindu Kush. That is a good problem though.

Alright, 28 days from seed and I would have to say that things are looking pretty good. The first and second pic are of Hindu Kush who is growing taller everyday and drinking a lot of water but just now starting to do some heavy flowering. The third and fourth pics are of BlueRyder. She is short but has some aggressive flowering going on all over the place. The other 4 (1 lemon skunk and 3 LR2's) are still trying to fight back and show some new growth but they are really doing just enough for me to let them stay in the game.

Here is a pic of how they all look together. It still baffles me how they are all the same age and grown the exact same way.
