yes the copper will Oxidize in water,
don't use it in the res that waters the plants
and don't daisy chain your chillers, this will cause you lots of problems
and will be much less efficient then if you run each chiller by it self
in you case its better to have few loops then one if it brakes

I'm still dialing things up with the room temps etc...

yes two 1/2 will do the job, and still use less power then an AC
my AC is on all the time with the 14k BTU heat pumping ,
figure about 3413 BTU of heat per 1000w
i have a 1/2hp commercial unit it will remove 6k BTU and will be perfect for 2 x 1000w
I'm under 50% of what i need to remove
if I'd know in advance what i know now
i who'd have gotten the 1.5hp or 2hp from the same line i use now
but i already have the 1/2 in place, it only uses around 600w

the reason i created my CoolBox system;
is to overcome what i think is flawed with the existing water cooled designs out there today

the first issue with all Water/Air Cooled systems out there ; is safety!
IE: water right next to power source and lighting etc...
then add potheads handling it

next issue is water inside the room
running lines to the room made no sense to me
it just to risky to work the system inside the grow room
beside for the safety reasons there's time and hard work invested
if a line brakes and shoots all over the plants, beside the flood in the room
you now ave burned plants

all the systems out there use one loop
if that one loop fails it will cause all other to fail with it

maintenance with some existing system is very delicate,
keeping algee and calcium build-up in control

implementation of any of today's Water/Air Cooled systems
is not an easy task, especially if you already have a venting setup going

if you look closely, you will find i have answered all of these issues and more with my G2G CoolBox Design

adding my CoolBox into an existing ongoing tube setup should be a breeze
everything is controlled in one location; out side with no water in the grow room!

everything being in the lab, i've realized that my ballast alone puts of 3500 btu...FUCKING WOW

not to mention it sits right beside my window shaker.... soooo my 6500 btu window shaker is being offset from the 3500btu off the digi...not to mention the chiller in the lab too. However with all that said, i still maintain around 78-83F. BUT i want to and must tackle this next project

my next project after the icebox trials are getting a ballast enclosure box or something man. they have these tube/cyclinder little small table top oven looking enclosures that are watercooled (and you put the ballast in). I can barely find any info on them so i know they are new. scroll down last page to see

i wouldn't bother with the enclosure, looks like a hard drive enclosure
leave a small fan blowing on them, or get them out the room

thats the ppm mesurment called for my type of grow (Aero/NFT)

how much did this cost you?

This is really too cool. It seems uneconomical to run an AC unit to cool the room when one could be using a 1-2HP water chiller at half the watts, with a large resorvoir. How many gallons is your chiller resovoir?

I'm running a 1/2hp commercial with 100 gallon res,
my portable AC cannot handle this much heat
my AC rated @14k BTU cooling (12.5amp 1375watts 110v)
i don't care how good it is, still not enough with 4 x 1000w
i should be getting another 1/2hp shortly
ill run it with only 50 gallon, should be another story then
