get a magnify glass and look at the crystals on the plant, they will appear as little mushrooms. If the mushroom heads are clear, then its too early, if the mushroom heads are cloudy, perfect timing, but be careful cuz there is a third stage that comes if ur too late where the mushroom heads are amber colord and the heads are limping over. Some ppl like a mix of the 2nd and 3rd stage. Thats what i like
Hi Huckelberry.. I am close to your time frame, i have been told the same thing from most regular growers to watch the color of the hairs(pistils) on the buds when theyre over 60 p/cnt brown/orange, theyre nearing harvest..The color of the Trichomes is also something that ppl keep an eye on to help give an indicator as to peak harvest times i think? I gather that its best to harvest b4 there amber in color.. But depending on your growth method some buds may be ready b4 others, so might be worthwhile to harvest the top half or so and leave the rest for few more days to see if they grow and mature some more. some ppl say dont waste ur time but its up to you..
