Sorry guys if I fell off the radar for a while, we are supposed to be moving and in the process of house hunting. We really haven't found anything that meets my "standards" so I will be cranking the old light up pretty soon again I hope. Like the title says down time sucks wish I was in full swing like I know some of you are. Also been enjoying the fruits of my labor every day since harvest with plenty left to last me a while. For my next revision of my system I have decided to upgrade all my supply lines coming from the accumulator to a larger size (3/8" I.D.) thinking I may get more sustainable pressure out of the nozzles and a little more coverage. I will def go with more nozzles per container probably 4 per plant. I have found that 2 per plant leaves lots of dry spots in the roots which leads to problems. I'm convinced that cutting dead roots off and letting them grow back hurt my overall yield last time. What's with the 1,000 word limit?! That blows I wrote a whole ramble lol
Pt.2 I'm also switching back to a little bit larger orifice sprayer nozzle in the .5 range. I was using the reptile misting kit for aquariums but the flow pretty much sucks. I didn't notice an orifice size but it must be tiny I don't recommend using these if there will be much distance between nozzle and roots as the puff of mist doesn't carry far and diminishes quickly. I will make sure this time I can completely dampen the roots with the sprayer array, then turn back the dial on the timer as short as need be to get the results I want. I'm also anxious to try out some drops of the strong peroxide periodically this time as others have reported good results as far as whitening up and reducing any thickness and gunk in the lines from the res. OK I Haven't posted in a while so I'm rambling......I'm very busy with life so this is how I post when I can lol..........SMOKE BREAK BRB (Super Lemon Skunk)
Pt.3 Ok....Better..now, I will still be using my 16 solenoid setup again as the accuracy of the timing is better than anything I have seen. I guess under 1 sec. is splitting hairs but if I wanted it could puff out a 1/10 sec. blast. I just wish it would leave the nozzles with more authority, I want it to shoot to the other side of the can even on like .5 sec. I hope that my accumulator> 1" hose > maniflod > 3/8" I.D. hose > Solenoids > Nozzle will be the ticket. I assume it will maintain full 100psi at the nozzle the entire time with no draw-down. I was beaten by draw-down last time I believe due to small diameter lines running to the nozzles. Don't make this mistake! If your shit is not perfectly dialed in coverage wise then you will have better results with an over-saturating of roots rather than trying to ride the line between dry and just damp enough.
Pt 4 Over-saturated roots will grow long and accumulate in the bottom which is not terrible just not optimal. Trying to get the fuzz without perfect coverage will net in new roots growing on top of older drying up roots. Then you have a big ass pom pom of fuzzy roots around the edges that are growing into the nozzles fucking up the spray with a big clump of dead root material in the middle. This is a dance I was not prepared for last time and trimmed all that shit off and let it grow back twice. For reference my first grow in a 30gal tote, 4 plants with all sprayers inside the same container and spray times no less than like 5 seconds netted me like 1.25lb of some really nice smelling/tasting stuff. The aero setup I did last time with 4 plants netted me about .6lb and the smell and taste was not as strong. 1 plant was even the same seed pack from one grow to the other so I know it wasn't strain. The fuck up def hurt yield. I am going for the 0 mistakes run this time. Im out
Good to hear about your grows. Glad you made it.
welcome back jedi! 30 gallon totes? what were the dimensions? how many nozzles? do you have a link to the chamber you used? 1.25 lbs sounds awesome!
