Intersting thing happening.

I use a Bubble cloner to take clones. I have done it a good few times and have had no problems before.

This time, the clones have not rooted properly.
They have been in the system for 3 weeks now, there normaly ready for transplanting after 2 weeks.
There are lots of little white lumps on the stems, but no actule roots. The plants have started to show signs of fresh growth.

Any ideas?

Hmm.

It's very odd. I have never seen it before.
It's like the plants don't know how to grow roots or something and insted are just growing lumps of root hair.

I will take some photos and post them back up.

Like I say, I have used this method of clones a few times, without any problems.

We posted at the same time.

Cool thats just what I wanted to hear.
They nearly did die, I had to cut off all the leaves except the tiny ones in the very middle.

They have since tripled in size.

hey sounds like the medium might be to wet. well mostly thats what i find. or the cutting was to small to begin with that it is taking enough water for itself so doesnt have to search for it. and yer man that bud is killer ay wish i could get hold of it. i just got boring looking afghan and skunk ay.

Well. They are in a bubble cloner, so they are sat in water.

I have never had this problem befor.

Still no roots. but the balls of what loocks like root are getting bigger, just not growing out. It's almost like they don't know how to grow roots. I dipped a few in more roots hormone to see if it helped.

i had some clones in rockwool and they weren't rooting well, i pulled the rockwool apart to air it up and 2 days later had roots bursting out the bottom. maybe try increasing the oxygen available..?

I will let you all know when/if they root.

bumps are signs of good things to come.
-high water temp can slow them. In my ez-cloner when temps stay below 70 i get roots galore in 7 days. temps above that and things take significantly longer.
-ph has also slowed me down before. I usually keep the cloner around 6 and they do their job. a friend uses straight tap water (no ph adjustment) and it takes twice as long for him.
-strains root at different paces. for me sativas and sativa hybrids root quicker everytime in my ez cloner. Indicas or predominately indica seem to take longer.
-rooting solution seems to help. I use root 66. It is not cheep but seems to produce better results than others. 20ml per gal.
-clean equipment everytime. By keeping my stuff clean I have had better results consistently. hot water and tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide.

hope this helps.

Hi

Well finaly roots, lots of roots. I put a little nutes in the water, and I got a load of growth.

The best of which being off the plant that I want to keep as a mother, Great.

No, I would like to wate longer in the bubbler and transplant when the plants have big root structurers.
If I want to do this, should I make sure that the stem is out of the water?

I would definetly wait until the roots are thick and healthy. A couple extra days of preparation in the cloner will make the world of difference in veg.
I had 30 in an ez-cloner drinking 3 gallons of water a day when they were fully developed.
when placing them in I would keep the stem out of the water. The roots should be the only thing exposed directly to the water and nutes.

I read where if also has to do where u take the clones from on the plant, the bottom of the plant, u get better and faster results if you use the lower branches on the plant u take the clones from.
The closer to the top you take the clones from, the longer it will take.
