Is it normal for the leaves coming out of the bud to have a little twist to them?

Could this be caused from heat stress? I move my light a little closer to the top of my plant two days ago. Could this be the reason?

yes 
they straighten out after they grow fully out, but if you look at any of the pics of forming buds on any of the grows here, you generally see the same.

put your hand under the bulb where the top of your plant is. if you can withstand the heat, so can the plant. you would know if it was too hot anyway because the leaves would burn and go yellow

Okay, thanks bro. Its the newer leaves that are growing like that and I wanted to make sure before I did any real damage.

They should be fine. Im using cfls and they are about three inches from the top.

Do you know if a 6500k bulb benefits a flowering plant. The reason i ask is one of my 2700k bulbs went out and i replaced it with a 6500k bulb. Do you think that will be okay or should I buy another 2700k bulb?

buy another. flowering plants do not benefit from blue spectrum bulbs. in a pinch you can use a duel spectrum, but best to use MH for veg only and HPS for flower only when generally growing.

where you can, buy a spare bulb of each type you use. if you found that you got less than 9-12 months out of the bulb, you may want to look at either the brand of bulb you are buying, or the type of ballast you are using. digital ballasts prevent hot starts and make your bulb last a lot longer. the expensive bulbs usually are expensive for a reason, often have higher lumen output and just generally a better quality bulb. i am sure there are some reviews on different brands knocking about in the forums. there are a lot of cheap crap bulbs out there.

Good input dude. The bulb that went out was faulty, I believe. I only got a few weeks out of it.

If and when I get a hps lamp, will I need to change bulbs. I think I already know the answer. Just want to make sure. If Im correct Ill use my 6500 cfls for vegging and the hps for flowering.

curling isn't, no, but what i got from his post is the twisting of new growth. i suppose it is strain specific but mine all do that, the Blue Cheese more than others.

you can see from that some new growth comes out a bit funky. is this what you are getting 4:20?
