Hi. I was just checking out some sativas and came across Dr. Grinspoon. It looks like a very interesting plant. Has anyone grown it? Any info would be great.

Also...what a good Thai to try?

Gypsy was selling some pure Thai on the Seed Boutique, but with his arrest status I don't know if that's still viable or not.

Check out Cannabiogen or Ace for pure sativas IMO. Also Tom Hill has a pure Haze which has quite a few favorable reports.

I did only because the trait of Dr.Grinspoon showed itself by accident. I had never seen a plant that was so thin and beady looking but the buzz was great and I would def grow again. Not a big yielder but great high.

i'm a lover of pure sativas….

I just don't trust Barney's farm…lol.

I read somewhere this was a re-named Reeferman strain (?)...

plenty of great worked lines from great breeders….both heirlooms and landrace cultivars...

I highly recommend Ace, Cannabiogen, Breeders Choice, SnowHigh...

good luck!

ACE Seeds Double Thai is a F1 hybrid that combines the best Thai Sativas ACE seeds have ever worked with. The mother is a first generation Thai from Koh Chang Island. The father comes from the latest highland Meao Thai selections (the mos tpowerfull and developed Thai we know). Double Thai is an excellent choice to experience the effect and taste of the best original Thais, with all the classic thai traits emphasized by the hybrid vigour. Double Thai is a very bushy and branchy sativa. It's cannabis seeds take 16-20 weeks to flower and it can be harvested outdoors at the end of December in tropical and subtropical climates. Double Thai's flavour is spicy and woody and gives a clean and euphoric high.

You can find a few grow reports on this if you use the search feature of this website. They run the gamut from "great buds" to "never again".

I've never grown this one, but I know its a notoriously low yielding pure sativa with significantly long flowering time (can run 15+ weeks), and fairly stretchy.

Plants like this are typically difficult to grow indoors, and if you allow 3 weeks for sexual maturation, and 4 weeks for dry and cure, you're basically looking at 5.5 months calendar time between dropping the bean and smoking the buds. IMO this one is best for diehards, and I don't think I'd try this one until I've at least had some experience growing other hazes first.

Nothing srong with barney..grinspoon has high thc..

How much does Barney's pay you per post? Like 50c everytime you go to a site to defend their crappy, highly marketed products?

I will never grow Barney's Farm again. Sure you can get a good pheno of a strain once in a blue moon, but the hell with that, there are so many breeders that blow BF out of the water, they are nothing but a waste of my grow space.

I think i will stay away from the GRINSPOON. I havent had any luck with Barneys either so far...tried Liberty haze one seed didnt sprout, one sprouted and died within a day the seed had white moldy stuff on it. My Acapulco Gold died after 4 days from being sprouted. My grape ape never sprouted, and the Tangerine i ordered and gave to a friend to grow was crap, not potent and a bitch to grow......Now that i thinking about it....EVERY seed ive ever gotten from Barneys has been garbage......

Had to chime in to say that i am on my second grow of Critical Kush and so far so good! Haven't lost one yet and no sign of hermies. They were femmed and 3 distinct phenos. Not the strongest of the kushes but still gets me high and that counts for something lol. Finish times are 60-65 days from switch.

Well the 3 pheno's is kinda normal lol. I tend too get a few phenos from all my from seed grows. But yes not a top notch strain, Im still searching for the one thats worthy of clonage lol. As for the stone ...... I've been smoking pot for 35 years pretty much daily and trust me it takes a lot lol.

I can't say anything bad about barney's, I have ran the blue cheese, turned out very well, just as described. However, the Pineapple Chunk, which is suppose to be a Indica dominant took over 100 days to finish flowering.

From what i've heard, Grinspoon provides a great high but the yield is pathetic and the flowering time is completely outrageous. Not a strain i'd reccomend growing out, plenty of other great sativas out there. As far as the Barney's bashing that's going on here, I haven't had much bad luck with them. Grew out their Utopia Haze and it was pretty great. They're a decent seed bank but their marketing team is where they really shine.

not having bad luck is different than finding amazing plants….

I give advise based off my experience...

plenty of great breeders out there who deserve more attention, not some retired oil-man's seed company.

Well considering you have ONE plant from BFs, I would say you can't really add much.
BF sucks, period. Every strain I have grown from them has a wide range of phenos that go from really bad, to OK at best.
So if you get lucky, you might get an OK plant out of a 10 pack. Most likely you will end up with a bunch of mid-grade.

I have only grown the Utopia haze personally but I have a close friend who has grown a few of their strains as well, he actually told me their red dragon was his favorite strain of all time and still keeps it in his garden to this day, he also really enjoyed their blue cheese. He did tell me tangerine dream was complete shit though. Overall I still hold the belief that Barney's is a decent Breeder, my favorite breeders still have to be greenhouse, cannabiogen, and TGA

I agree, not saying Barney's is an amazing breeder, just don't think they are as bad as a lot of people are saying.

Barney's are not a seeed bank, the term is breeder..
And if.you like tga and ghsc, no wonder why you think Barney's are a good 'seeed bank'..
