Can I use bud that has a bad taste?

Hi everyone! I just recently ended up with a bit a meds that ended up with a off taste after drying. Almost like they were dried to quickly or improper flush. My question is, Will this taste carry over into my extract, or will it be left behind in the blasted material? I don't want to waste my gas and such if it will turn to bad product. Thanks for any of the help.

Thanks guys. Been pondering this for a minute. Figured id just ask and see. What about a water cure prior to blasting? I know a lot of taste will be absent in general after a water cure but at least no foul taste maybe.

you cant make chicken soup outta chicken shit. if the bud tastes like shit, theres nothing you can do to get rid of the gross flavor. not 100% sure about the water cure, but when making oil, you gotta be careful... nothing worse than concentrated shit.

on the other hand.. if you can find a very nice smelling/tasting bud... try blasting that. you will be in taste heaven!!

A well made extract, tastes exactly like what it was extracted from. My concern would be what is in in to cause it taste like it does, so I wouldn't use until I knew for sure what that is, and that it was salubrious.

It just seems to have a lesser quality "rego" taste. :(

If it had a foul taste. Like mold. Our stale. Or ya. It will taste pretty bad.. if it had some signs of the good aroma. And not mold. It may be worth it to try out an extract

yeah, that could possibly dilute and disguise the taste enough to the point where it was edible... depending on how your stomach and tongue allows. mine wouldnt let me swallow it.

I made edibles one time with trim.. you could def taste the trim in the brownies, they were also very very hard to swallow because of the taste. I imagine if it was made with a nice kush though it would be delicious.

Will making cannabutter be the solution, or will he get bad tasting butter?
Back to the question of why the bud smells and tastes bad. Is it something that you want in your body?

Depends on what the taste is, as far as what it will take to disguise it.

We make our cannabutter using ghee and no water, so there is very little plant taste, which would mean any strong flavors that were there, would most likely come through.

If you boil the material in water and butter, as most folks do, the strong chlorophyll taste may cover up the taste of the evil spirits.

Water could help bring back some terpenes and clean some of the bad taste but it will be a gamble. You should forget about smoking and think edibles
All the best
