Ohio Joint House Resolution 6: Allowing the voters to decide

Ohio currently has pending legislation in the House about allowing the voters to decide whether marijuana should be legalized.
If you live in Ohio, now is the time to contact your rep and let him/her know that this is a matter that should be decided by voters, not the nanny state.
Find out here who your rep is and how to contact them: http://www.ohiohouse.gov/

I contacted my Rep, Richard Perales (R) and told him where I stand on the issue and that I would be following his vote.
He wrote back saying that he "is not convinced that marijuana legalization is the best thing for society."

So I had to write back and remind him that HJR6 is NOT about HIM and his cronies deciding what is best for the public, but rather allowing it to go to the ballot for the voters to decide.

PLEASE take action and make your feelings known as well. 70 years of failed prohibition and locking up adults for pot is long enough. It is time for the martini and valium crowd to quit locking up the pot smokers. LET's MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

I see the domino effect starting...

Its truely a beautiful thing to see what we all hoped for happening bit by bit.

When the US legalises on a Federal level, the rest of the world will start changing too.

Yeah, I remember when they jumped up on the Berlin Wall with hammers and began attacking it. I thought, oh shit, backlash. The Stasi, at least, will try to stop this.

Woops, the Stasi was making good its ass skin, and heading East. Totally agree with that last sentence.

The best way, as I posted in the reform bills is to take out the words that refer to our Meds.

Strike this.
Strike that.

Now, this other thing..Strike all that out of illegal in a very short, easy to understand Bill. It get's proposed every Congress lately...one of these days, I hope, it will slip though, quietly, with a Farm Bill and that is that.

The US is trying to catch up with the rest of the world, not the other way around. The rest of the world is weary of the tyranny forced upon it by the totalitarian US. Portugal has changed. Uruguay is making final preps on their change. The US has done nothing at the federal level and will do nothing so long as the slaves of the US continue to support the politicians who work for the corporations.

The US is far from being the leader of the pack as it relates to cannabis.

too bad we have international treaties that will make ending the federal prohibition nearly impossible in the short term.

We're pretty selective about which international treaties we care to notice, and how we notice'm. I don't see this as an impediment.

damned right.

but the US government only breaks treaties with nations who are powerless, freindless and have no ability to seek justice from the international courts, UN, treaty organizations etc which largely did not exist at that time.

history fucked the red man, fucked him hard.

Then why do you still call it "our government" ?
it still belongs to us even if it is currently tied up in a soundproof dungeon being repeatedly raped by the bureaucrats, lawyers and professional politicians.

eventually the government may be liberated by the people, or it may be discarded on the side of the road, bound in duct tape, with it's underpants on inside out.
