'immature' buds

Hey All,
A problem has occurred at the end of the last lot/start of this lot of plants. The only way it can be described is that the flowers are 'immature'. They stay bright green, and tend to fill out at about week 4/5 instead of 2/3. This of course affects yield, end result is not as 'full' as usual.

The light provided is 600w HPS per 2 plants, air flow is extremely adequate. Grown in Coco/perlite.

No variables have changed since last fully successful batches (which kicked ass). However, the weather has changed (becoming colder now) so maybe this is a factor?

Just a quick edit: this is not a silly first timer/paranoia problem. These grow conditions have produced many good cycles before this sudden change.

Check out the picture and post what you think. Thanks

The pic isnt the best guys but some responses would be great.
I have the same look to one of my girls....I have her in soil....and my temps are high 70's....I use a 150 watt hps....which has also produced for me now. I don't think it's heat....but nobody seems to have an answer to the claw leaves around the flowers. mine just look like the leaves around the flowers are getting the life sucked out of them....lemme know if you think we have the same issue

By those leafs that are droopy and curled down looks like the roots arent getting enoph air due to over watering

dude.....I have been looking for an answer to this question for days and days. one of my first thoughts was and o2 def. in the roots due to over watering. I have looked at many different possibilities...but now that you say it...it makes me think that's gotta be it. my soil is almost dry so next water I will add some peroxide and see where im at. thanks man....kinda confirmed my fear. rep+

your plant have nutrient lock out. have you checked your ph??
Both of these leaves in figure 1 and figure 2 are from the same plant. It could be over fertilization, but more likely it is due to the pH being off. Too high or too low a pH can lock up nutrients in the form of undisolvable salts and compounds, some of which are actually toxic to the plants. What then happens is the grower then tries to supplement the plants diet by adding more fertilizers, throwing off the pH even more and locking up even more nutrients. This type of problem is seen more often in soil mixes, where inconsistent mixing of the medium's components leads to "hot" spots.

i'm missing something. they look green and healthy. looks like they are about halfway. is this a new strain? maybe they just need more flowering time.

they are healthy looking except the leaf rolling. my girls are about half way there. as far as the strain goes I unfortunately don't have it for ya bro...or for myself for that matter. Just some tasty Xmas buds i got some months back But I will tell ya Fdd....if you are missing something I would be surprised...and i have checked everything. my best guess though is o2 to the roots. we shall see. but it is very odd.....i have checked everything I can possibly think of....I guess as long as she stays green I have some time to figure it out :blsmoke:

Hey FDD, thanks for the reply.

They do look green and healthy, that is why it is so weird.

It isn't nute lockout (potentially from water too cold or PH levels).

It is that same as always, just its fucking taking longer to develop. Though that isn't the full picture... , they actually aren't developing fully.

As previous, no variables have changed other than the weather.

What variables can add two weeks to flowering time>

so what exactly is the problem you are having. they are just growing slow? :-?

No dude, as previous, they are 'immature'. They are staying bright green and not filling out.

Please, dont consider this a newb post.... post count isnt everything.

The previous lot to this took about an extra 2 weeks to shoot out all the hairs fully. If you consider this is an 8 week (flower) strain, this is a long time.

i didn't even look at your post count.:-|

so the problem is: the are growing slow? just let them go longer. :blsmoke:

i don't consider anything an 8 week strain. i try to go at least 10 with everything.
