Thanks Med, added Z7 and
[h=2]Sensi Seeds Maple Leaf Indica[/h]
Interesting that Z7's creation involved G13 Haze, great story about this pursuit of high CBD here.

Cataract Kush has 5% CBD and 18% THC - River Rock typically has it but it isn't their strain I don't think.
Thats interesting, i have some Cataract Skunk seeds from Mile High seeds, got them as a freebie from the 1st cup, may run them just based on this comment. Well that and they are getting older now, i really need to get to popping some seeds....

Got some Cataract Kush seeds from DNA en route, and some TGA Pennywise (harlequin x JTR) that I'm gonna be hunting through to
find some strong medicinal effects :)

Gonna be working on torabora and r4 as well here in a bit.

Fox St. dispo has a high cbd strain they call Floating Genie. most functional high I can remember. You can tell you smoked and feel the body high, but it's super clear headed...

I believe the THC in strains is actually THC-a. It becomes THC when heat is applied (or slowly over time - decarb). So measuring THC-a is the same as THC (as far as we are concerned with potency).
I'd imagine thats the same with CBD and CBD-a by the same logic.

Can anyone confirm?
You are correct but the acids THC-a CBD-a and so on are all the raw version unheated they do not in any way turn into THC or CBD without heat which decarboxilates them meaning it removes carboxyl group (CO2) from the compound this takes it from inactive(wont get you high) to active (will get you high)

THC does not turn into CBD

Age does not turn THC a into THC only heat does

Thats garbage dude! This is a new thing they are trying out right? Kind of like the weed of the 60 and 70s my dad said, THC was like 4-5% LOL

Im assuming the more chemistry that goes into growing this High CBD strain it should be off the charts.
the reason for the low test results ofthe 60's-70's was it was a different testing methodology...the plant material was included in the matter tested...now just the cannabinoid resins are tested...removing the plant material of course raised the percentage...I have smoked through the 70's to now and all I see as a major difference is these modern types mostly cause me to be lazy and stoned...the old one happy and high

Age and curing certainly does decarb but slowly...heat speeds it up but at a minute reduction in potency the higher temp and faster it is done

Must be very careful decarbing high CBD if that is your goal as too long at too high and it will disappear

Do you have any guidelines on temp and duration Kite? I just figured it would be similar to THC decarb.

I contacted Greenwerkz, and they said that if you have a Colorado medical card, they'll give you a pack of R4 for free...

230F for 25 minutes
So if I make an ethanol extraction method RSO with a high CBD strain, would you suggest heating to just 230? I had planned to hit 270 to decarb the THC and hadn't considered what it would do to the CBD. Perhaps a compromise at 250 for 15 minutes or something like that to get the best of both worlds? Appreciate your sharing info on this, thanks.
