I believe that there is a tribe in Africa that when a female reaches maturity {12-13 I think} they use clam shells or something similar and slice the scalp, then pack it with plant material creating a mound of sorts...they believe it's also I sign of beauty.

ok ok

africa has a shitload of what i would consider ridiculous rituals, from body carving, female circumcision, lip stretching, ear stretching, penis piercing and the list goes on and on, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that is a fact.

when i was maybe 11 years old, i had a bookshelf full of books i had never read, one of them i picked off the shelf and decided to read. It described the cultures and rituals of groups who had lived outside of modern culture, from Australia, USA(certain native american groups) , Africa and Asia. The ones who held the highest regard in terms of physical alteration seemed to originate in Africa, although when reading about asia i had my own qualms as to what they considered to be desirable or attractive (crushed feet and a few i don't remember), and it was an eye opener, i don't like to view myself as a holier than though figure unless i have the evidence or argument to pose but damn, human culture is just rife with rituals/ceremonies(in judaism a rabbi akin to a priest sucks the blood out of a baby's bloodied circumcised cock LOL, witnessed it happen myself at a "briss") that are seemingly disgusting. I don't believe it's just me and i can't settle the issue with most people i know partake it these rituals because tradition seems to trump whatever logic i present in an argument.

And this really is my only argument against circumcision. I would not like to think people did it because they were told too. People have told me MJ was bad and evil and would cause my brain to die and so they made it illegal. I believed what I was told when I was younger, now I question and decided for myself what I feel is right or wrong.
I don't believe a hospital circumcision will damage a person so he can't have a normal sex life, obviously that is not the case. I've had very amazing partners both snipped and un-snipped. But I do feel too many people make the decision to do it just because it's tradition and that I can't agree with. Maybe one day my sons will say to me, I wish you had done it too me when I was a baby, now I have to deal with it myself...I hope if that happens, I have enough money to buy them something nice to make up for it. It's not easy being a parent, everything from what you name them to where you live will ultimately affect them growing up. All you can do it what you feel is best and right at the time. I know I haven't done everything right, all I can do is my best.

I'ts weird because i thought about naming whatever, whenever i and my significant other choose to have kids but i might have, something original or at least out of the ordinary(including my own name) and when i discussed names (as a kid i found it odd that 3-4 other kids in a pretty small sample had my name) nowadays I don't think it matters. Yet I can't think of anything original in the first place(not that the name matters to begin with ). children, to me were a part of a continuous cycle that i wanted to deviate from(my parents had 15 children of their own. oh well, human nature seems to me go toward what's inescapable the forever reproduction cycle that has gotten out of whack). somehow at 4-5 years old i recognized that what my grandparents and parents were doing was something i wanted to obstruct, because it seemed like they had rushed their life. Witnessing them as i was growing as kid was really odd and can't explain it exactly, i still it found it odd to argue that humans who are overpopulated and fertile should reproduce to the extent that we do.

No he didn't, FGM or female genital mutilation is commonly practiced by Muslims and other cultures in the middle east, Asia and Africa that are oppressive to women, i thought about making a thread on it but meh its not very common in our culture.

Age performedA few days after birth to age 15, and occasionally in adulthood
Female genital mutilation (FGM), also known as female genital cutting (FGC) and female circumcision (FC), is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons."[SUP][1][/SUP] According to the WHO, it is practiced mainly in 28 countries in western, eastern, and north-eastern Africa, and in parts of Asia and the Middle East.[SUP][2][/SUP] The organization estimates that 140 million women and girls around the world have experienced the procedure, including 101 million in Africa.[SUP][1][/SUP]
Female circumcision is believed to have originated in the Pharaonic period amongst Afro-Asiatic (Hamito-Semitic) communities inhabiting the Red Sea area, from where it later spread to other regions.[SUP][3][/SUP] The procedure is typically carried out on girls from a few days old to puberty. The surgery may take place in a hospital, but is usually performed, without anaesthesia, by a traditional circumciser using a knife, razor or scissors. The WHO has offered four classifications of FGM, Types I–IV.[SUP][4][/SUP] Around 85 percent of women who undergo FGM experience Types I and II, and 15 percent Type III. Type III is the most common procedure in Djibouti, Somalia and Sudan, and in parts of Eritrea, Ethiopia and Mali.[SUP][5][/SUP]

  • Type I: removal of the clitoral hood, almost invariably accompanied by removal of the clitoris (clitoridectomy).
  • Type II (also known as excision): removal of the clitoris and inner labia.
  • Type III (also known as infibulation): removal of all or part of the inner and outer labia, and usually the clitoris, and the fusion of the wound, leaving a small hole for the passage of urine and menstrual blood—the fused wound is opened for intercourse and childbirth.[SUP][6][/SUP]
  • Type IV: miscellaneous procedures ranging from a symbolic pricking or piercing of the clitoris or labia, to cauterization of the clitoris, cutting into the vagina to widen it (gishiri cutting), and introducing corrosive substances to tighten it.[SUP][6][/SUP]
According to the WHO, the practice is rooted in gender inequality and ideas about the need to control women and their sexuality; in communities that practice it, it is typically supported by both women and men.[SUP][7][/SUP] Opposition to it focuses on the human and children's rights violations, lack of informed consent and the health consequences, which can include recurrent urinary and vaginal infections, chronic pain, infertility, fatal hemorrhaging, the development of epidermoid cysts, and complications during childbirth. There have been concerted efforts by international bodies since 1979 to end the practice, including sponsorship by the United Nations of an International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation, held every 6 February since 2003.[SUP][8][/SUP] Sylvia Tamale, a Ugandan legal scholar, writes that there is a large body of research and activism in Africa that strongly opposes FGM, but she cautions that some African feminists object to what she calls the imperialist infantilization of African women, and the idea that FGM is nothing but a barbaric rejection of modernity. Tamale suggests that there are cultural and political aspects to the practice's continuation that make opposition to it a complex issue.[SUP][9][/SUP]

Really the main reason I'm pissed about it is that I had no say in it. Plus I just don't get how someone could chop up a baby dick, and that I have met a baby dick chopper in my life.

Im offended for u bro. And yeh it's weird shit. ve never heard of a guy waking up here and saying hmm that extra 2mm bit of skin is getting in the way, I want some hairy dude to cut me up. Why would that even happen? Maybe if you were surrounded by people waving their cut dicks in ur face but that'd be kinda gay anyway. The topic isn't even brought up here because we're pretty much all default and nobody has a real reason to chop. It's a cultural thing... The Chinese like to kill tigers for medicine, u guys find this the norm is to cut kids under some pseudo-science. But it's ok dude cuz It could've gone either way u might've had some long ass skin or phimosis or something lol.

2mm of extra skin??? My hubby has like 2 inches.

Also phimosis is caused by injury to the foreskin.
2 inches from the top or including the head?

Not fapping enough increases chances of injury hence phimosis too. Back in elementary school we had a schooldoctor. Not sure it still exists, been a few decades, but basically a doctor that would drive around in a bus with a couple of nurses ( that sounds horrible). Sort of double check thing for parents that didn't take their kids regularly to regular family doctors I guess.

Anyway, long story short, the schooldoctor tells boys to blow on their hand (distraction) while he tries to pull the foreskin over the head. If that didn't went easy both the boy and the parent got clear instructions (for the boy only ;)) to pull/play with it during bathing - even before 'fapping' was applicable.
