Where to buy Food Grade Butane

Hey everyone! I currently live in NY which is a non-med state so finding people that know how to make BHO is impossible where I am. I have been doing lots of research on making it and feel confident I will be able to make it properly, The only issue I have come upon is finding Food Grade Butane. I have never seen it before or even heard of it before searching BHO. Does anyone know where I can buy it from. Either in a store or online. Im guessing Wal*Mart is a no go on it probably as well as the Food store likes Hannaford, Price Chopper, Shop Rite are also no go's. Would bakerys? I have found cigarette stores sell nitrious oxide so I will check them first but im guess It will also be a fail because people cant huff food grade butane so odds of them actually selling cans of it are slim to none so they wont carry it if people dont buy it.
People where I live think BHO is some special designer drug like X, LOL people really here think dabs are like crack, heroin and crack mixed heroin or some shit. so odds are no ones making it. People here finally found out about medicated candys and foods so chances are people here will know what BHO is by 2014.

ive never hear of food grade butane, what would you use butane in? go to a good cigar/tobacco shop, they will sell a quality butane for good lighters. make sure to get at least 4-5x refined butane.

Even 5x and 7x are blends and contain other gasses like propane which will all have different boiling points making a true 100% purge impossible.

You can purchase pure n-butane from local gas distributors or the big guys like airgas
n-butane is pure butane and is often referred to a medical grade butane. I think this is what is used in food products etc as well. This is the solvent of choice for PRO status BHO production, a n-butane blast followed by a 27+ atmosphere vacuum purge. I still wont touch the stuff. RO ice and water IWE all the way for my organic and veganic precious resins! IMO shortcuts lead to bad things in the medical cannabis production processes.

Sr. Verdes concentrate corner has all the info you crave and a whole lot more. They talk about all the gas options and where to buy and how much they pay. Head shops CAN cut you a deal if you want the 5x/7x blends, my bro (whose oil I will not consume as he does not purge correctly) is paying less than $4 per can for cases at a local head shop, talk to the manager/owner. "I empty a lot of lighters man..."

I am with calyx, Everclear or water and ice for extracts. I hear CO2 is the new way to extract.

There isn't a food grade butane. Co2 is food grade/medical grade as its fit for human consumption. There is isobutane used in culinary torches for browning and such, but nothing intended for consumption as its spiked w EtSH.

Food grade=99.5% n-butane or higher. I get it for 350$ a lp5 container. Which is 5 gallons. I'm a cook. And there is food grade. The butane purges naturally at regular atmosphereic pressure in a non viscous solution. When ezteacting with essential oils you need a vacuum pump. Search your area for a specialty had store. They should be able to help you. Say you service refrigerators and you have a special poject or something.

You should be able to get the tank through the place that supplies the butane. But you can buy them online. So either way. Lp5 is the size. The place I use doesn't want anything else to have been put in the cylinder other than what it's being filled with. So buy it new and empty or from whatever place you find that sells butane.

i read this somewhere:

"LP5 Tank Cylinder - WITH LIQUID SIPHON PREFILLED WITH 99%, 99.5% or 99.9% PURE N-BUTANE. Mercaptan Free
YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU GET A LIQUID SIPHON ON YOUR TANKS TO GET OUT THE LIQUID INSTEAD OF VAPOR GAS
Repeat this over and over when ordering from any GAS/SOLVENT SUPPLIER."

any input?

I would assume that it would be like a co2 tank in that case just turn the tank upside down and liquid should flow out. But blowing wax with a tank seemes like it would be a lot more diffcult to regulate the ammount of butane that you would actually use.

We get our LP-5 99.5% Instrument Grade with a dip tube and transfer it to our storage and working tanks, which all have both dip and vapor ports, using a simple connecting hose, in conjunction with heat and cold, except for the last little bit which we pump off with a recovery pump for speed.

Ostensibly a tank without a dip tube could be inverted and liquid would flow out of the vapor valve. I can't think of any technical issues, unless the tank has a pressure relief, and then if it lets go, it will be spraying liquid insead of vapor.

Any other forum input?

Isobutane is cleaner burning than NORMAL or n-Butane. It's used as a propellant in cooking sprays, but the temperature sprayed on a hot plate, the fda isn't intending the propellant to be ingested. since n-Butane leaves at least one unburned carbon molecule behind as its a strait chain molecule. Isobutane is a branched chain and for that reason has a more complete combustion.

Lab grade (n) butane is the purest butane. All butane has propane propellants, benzene, and about 50 other gases that all purge at varying temps. Still very toxic and carcinogenic.. You want food grade ethanol. Its found in some stores on Indian reservations. Pretty hard to get otherwise in the U.S. Unless you own or work for professional auto racing team.
