I have got most of my favorite shots free hand, but I can't get that consistent focus that I can mounted w/ a higher ISO, this room is full of awesome stuff to shoot, the next few weeks my cam is going to get a work out.

Setting up a studio area soon!

Nikon D5000 w/ Ring Light & 2- 23w 5k CFL overhead, natural wood background. Free Hand.
Slight adjustments to sharpen, but this baby is virtually untouched (minus the tags bongsmilie ).

I just took a look at my "macro" lens, it says its EFS 18-55mm. This is probably the reason I cannot get super close with keeping focus? Also says 0.25m/0.8ft

This is about the best shot i could muster of my Jillybean....composure blows, and she is not very photogenic, but it works for documentation purposes....

that is a kit lens that prob came with your cam....it is an all-around general lens...it is not a macro though.....all of my shots up to this point were taken with an 18-55 kit lens, but i have just upgraded so i can get a little closer, and a little further away with decent clarity and focus......i am selling one of my macros.....anybody want it for 1/2 the price?

i will sell it to a fellow nerd for $200....almost brand new.....it is a Nikon mount.

This is one of my favorites. The dying bud putting on the last of the resin in the cold days of December:
