Quitting Marijuana & Withdrawl Symptoms?

No need to be rude. Yes we do produce our on cannabinoids but its the same with any drug. When you smoke a cigarette, the nictotine releases dopamine (which your brain produces on its own its normal) and you become addicted to the release of dopamine- this is because more dopamine responders grow in the brain due to the big load of dopamine its receiving. I would think something similar happens with marijuana.

I'm happy for you that you can consume that much marijuana and abruptly stop and not experience any withdrawl symptoms at all- thats fantastic and you're a lucky person. I'm not so lucky, it stinks.

Also, people seem to have associated me with being an asshole all of the time- not sure why? It only happens when I don't smoke marijuana for a period of time. Kind of like the same way a person who is addicted to cigarettes doesnt have one for a few hours and they turn into an asshole?

FYI I'm not an asshole ;)

Thank you for adding to the discussion.
People who smoke cigarettes are assholes! And I'm not saying you're an asshole Im saying do you think its possible that the marijuana may have been helping your mood? You state that you have been using it for awhile now is it possible that marijuana makes you a more pleasant person? Could you have had the problems you experience when you don't smoke before and just not realized it? or are you coninced weed makes you dr. jekyll and mr hyde?

Your welcome , now dont take everyones sarcasm so seriously here .. Words with no emotions are just that .. I was laughing the entire time I typed that out :) One has to have thick skin around this board due to the bullshit we all endure when here ..

With that said , our THC receptors in our brain simply lie flat and become less receptive to THC in short . So by refraining from THC ones receptors will be back on ends and ready .. Now this is alot different than dopamine and its production ..

Now I could get into more of what our other receptor does and how that all works but you sound like you need THC for the brain and not the body

Glad to know your only an ass part time ;)

Your argument is retarded. I know exactly what he is talking about. I am far from an asshole (at least when im not on the internet) and i have had all of these systems and it IS from constant smoking. good news though homie...go cold turkey for about a week and you will be fine.

Throwing down the gauntlet? Why is my argument retarded? What did I say that was not plausible?

people like you who believe weed is a miracle and can do absolutely no wrong do not help its perceptions. Drinking too much water can kill you...you dont think smoking too much weed can affect your mood when absent from your system after long term use? I have had the exact same experience as him and i know it is because of smoking. I still love smoking but to say there is no such thing as too much or too often is crazy.

I know it is a miracle. I have Tardive dyskinesia and PTSD and have taken countless prescription medicines all of which gave me insane side effects. Marijuana has changed my life. but thats all irrelevant... You never stated what I said that wasn't plausible..... if you are going to call me out atleast explain why. If everything I said was plausible then how am I an asshole? What makes me an asshole? I want specifics. Copy and paste. what did i say that was false or unrealistic?

Alright, I'll respond. I have to say, I've written out a few paragraphs but just deleted them each time because its almost pointless to respond.

You seem to be challenging the fact that there is an association between my symptoms and the use of marijuana. Its really pointless for me to respond on this because the fact is I cannot absolutely 100% prove what I'm experiencing to anyone on here. We can go back and forth all day and say "well sure you smoke but you tried other drugs too and that might have changed your brain chemistry so now you have these symptoms." or one might wrap it up by saying "you had these problems before you smoked and never realized it".

I guess the problem with thoughts like these is they are assumptions. Actually a little less than assumptions they're more like random guesses.

It wasn't an assumption as more of a question and new perspective.

if someone acts like an asshole because they don't have weed it's because they're throwing a tantrum, not "withdrawal". using weed as a scapegoat for tantrums isn't going to help you. by that definition every kid that pitches a fit because their mom won't buy them a toy is having "playing withdrawals". if quitting weed is getting to you like that you have bigger problems than being a pothead. it's equivalent to a spoiled person not getting their way.

playing the victim card is not the way to go about it. psychological sabotage is not the same as withdrawal.

Well, I can also add that I understand first hand the side effects you've experienced from prescription meds. Pretty much every prescription medication I've taken has had some bad side effect, some much worse than others. :/

You're correct. This is not what I'm talking about ;)

I agree with the majority of the responders.

You prob have anger/anxiety problems and weed helps with that. It would be irresponsible of you to simply dismiss the notion that something chemical or emotional is at play here.

~~~~~~~
Try a prescription hardcore antidepressant and go cold turkey after 4 years. That shit will fuck you up.
I take effexor xr and within 24 hours of it being out of my system I am dizzy, nauseated, weird tingly feelings at the base of my skull, crying, sweating and that is only the beginning.
