I have been doing this (breeding) for awhile now! I just mixed a cross of a 100% pure Sativa with a 8 Ball Kush. Waiting on the beans to get done, come up "me & another" grower on here with (8 Bomb) for the name. I use the collodail silver myself. Just made a batch the other day. I plan on crossing a crossing a Chemdawg 91' w/a Spacebomb!! Should make for a very interesting cross I think!! I plan on making atleast 10 more crosses & sellling my genetics/crosses on seedbay.
Maybe one of thme will make it big! ;) wishfull thinking I guess. ;)
Cool stuff. Do people really buy seeds off of seedbay? The seeds aren't breed by a company so the genetics could be false. Do you have a link to any of your work?

Hey! Yeah people do purchase seeds/strains from Seedbay bro.. and NO there not breed ny a certain Co or anything. Its privat breeders such as myself, & all the other breeders, that come up with there own strains, just like all the Seedbanks/Subcool and the "rest" started out bro. Independent breeders. And the "Seedbay" wouldn't let any "false" genetics come through there doors, when you do provide them with your strains/crosses, they make sure they have all you information, as with what strains you used, where you purchased them from, & so on. For that purpose, and also for the info they provide the "buyer". They sale your strains for you, & all you do is sit back & receive the $.. As far as me having a "link" to my work, I haven't been doing it all that long myself, a year & a half at most. And I did studying the 1st part of my 1st year, before even attempting it!! After that it took some time to find that "perfect" strain that I wanted to cross, then it took alittle more time to make a "female" produce "male" pollen, so I could have it to pollinate a female I had selected, or backcross it with itself. I have only made 2 strains so far, but I have been talking with "Seedbay" and trying to come up with atleast say 5 or more crosses of my own, so I would have a "selcetion" to choose from..

Damn, what are you planning on making for your other 3 strains? I was thinking a purple kush auto x afghan kush ryder auto. Purple auto with high THC content.

What are some charcteristics you look for in your seeds for breeding? How can you tell the THC content without sending it to a lab?

Well, its not really the characteristics in the "seeds" that I look 4 bro. Its the characteristics in the strain I am after. And what I look for in strains that I want to cross/breed is how fast it grows, taste,if I am looking for short really bushy plants, or lanky ones. Which I don't cross/breed any strains that are "lanky" at all! Also I try to find strains that have really tight compact nodes, also flowering time. Those 3 things really is what I try to produce. The flowering time, taste, and node spacing. And as far as "testing" the THC content, really for me the only way to know/tell how much one particular strain has is by smoking it, "the high". I wish I had a "lab"!!! Lol.. ;) I would LOVE it. I could do actual"tests" on said strains I am breeding!.. I learned all this stuff from my Dad, "growing" in general, alittle bit on crossing/breeding. I tried to always listen to him, even if I thought what he was doing was wrong! Because he was a botanist, and honestly there wasn't much that he didnt/couldn't do! And I am not just saying that because he is my Dad, he truely was a really smart man, & knew his shit!! Just wish he was still around so I could learn a ton more from him!! ;)

Ok sorry I am late answering this.

Couple questions:
Why do you veg on 24/0 instead of 20/4.
A: I usually do veg under 20/4 but honestly i havent bothered with a timer for this veg cab its basically a clone cab
Do you allow the sacks to open while on the plant and pollinate all the pistils? Or do you remove the sacks and paint on the pollen where you want?
A: I do not let them open, I like to save my pollen sacks, Therefore i use a razor to cut the sacs off just before they are ready to open. They will be starting to turn brownish.
How long do the seeds take to develop after pollination?
A: About 6 weeks average
How many seeds will you get off one female?
A: Depending how much pollen the plant recieves anywhere from a few to a cereal bowl full.
What do you do with the pollinated buds once the seeds are removed?
A: Smoke em :) Unless of course you sprayed the plant with CS
Does the CS make them non-safe to use? Is there a noticeable difference in THC content?
A: CS makes the plant unsmokeable or at least whatever was inoculated unsmokeable
With your seedlings that are 12/12 from seed; when do you notice sex?
A: Usually about 20 days

Oh oh, Roots Excellerator? The overpriced roots starter? Yea, I used it once. Rapid Rooter does the same for 1/2 the price.

Its the green bottle next to the CalMag in the picture. I love that stuff. Can be used in hydro, coco and soil, no problemo.

I used to be a nute snob, only worked with Advanced Nutrients or House & Garden, now I get whats on sale. :-P

Ionic and GH have been good to me too.

As a noob, I look at that and wonder "holy shit, why would you need all that stuff?". But, I take it you're using individual nutrients instead of just a fertilizer. I'm just using Jacks Classic All Purpose throughout veg and the flowering girls are getting Jack's Classic Bloom Booster and I'm really happy with the results, so far. Am I to assume that if I actually knew what I was doing, I would get much better results by using individual nutrients? Or is it just a different way of getting the same result? :leaf:
