Hi all. My buddy just phoned me this morning and he was almost crying on the phone!! He has a few plants 1 week into the flowering stage, so really no hairs yet. Anyways he was checking his timers for his lights..he has one 54w floure..and a 250w hps. The 54wfloure is just for side lighting..so he was checking the timers and the 54w floure had a 15min segment pushed down after 3 hours of dark period(the light was coming on for 15mins 3 hours after lights out) This has been going on for 1week. He has sorted it now...

But my question to you is will this effect the rest of the flowering period or will everything be ok from now on. PLEASE NOTE..a few nights ago he said that his plants were droopy, now this guy is in his sixties and has been growing on and off for a number of years and really has never had problems with his grows, so he asked me to see if anyone has any input on here, as he is not very computer savy!!

So any input would be very welcome!

Thanks in advance..

Crying? Really?

But as to ur question, they should be ok. But at 60 yo, your bro should realize there are no guarantees in life... So what if he gets a few seeds from a hermie? Unless he's selling or something :/

He only grows for his own smoke as he has bad joint problems..and it helps him a great deal with the pain! Hense the almost crying buisness!! It's his medication and he cant afford to buy it. He will be happy with to hear that everything should be ok, i too will be happy as he always gives me a few nugs at the end of his grows:weed:.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone on here!!

Thanks Again Guys and Gals..

Haha, it happens bro... I am so cautious now that I unplug my timers when I can be there to turn on and off... Timers are now just backup for me. Those stupid pins have the tendency to get pushed down if you aren't careful.... It's happened to me a couple times as a matter of fact - no problems.

But the fact is, it depends on the strain. More stable genetics ca handle stress better than others - that's y I say it will "probably" be fine. Besides, one week into flowering is pretty early so I think it will be okay.

Time will tell mate. They should be fine, I've messed around with one of my plants night cycles quite a bit and she's doing fine.

Yep! they have some stable strains for sure..big bang, lemon skunk, exdous cheese, mody dick, the church,AMS, I know are stable. But kalasnhikova and the Himayalan gold are not!!

Anyway only time will tell. I will let you all know the outcome anyway!! As long as i get a few free nugs, im not worried so i hope he gets some sort of a yield.

Thanks for your input and if anyone else has had a similar accident please do share!!;-)

Hi all..Just a quick update on my mate's grow. Ok so he has resolved the light/timer issue, but he has informed me that his plants look very sad and droopy, could this be due to the light interruptions during the dark period as he has assured me that everything else is perfect.
1. Are his plants in soil or hydro. Soil biobizz allmix.
2.What nutes is he giving them. Advanced Nutes bloom+maxicrop seaweed+the soil has been treated with a tablespoon of volcanic rock dust in each pot. Only 2 feeds have been given 1/4 dose. Also watering using the finger method and lifting the pot up.
3.What are the temps in the room. No more than 82 in the day, and 55-65 in the night.
4.Whats the air flow like. 1x100cfm exaust fan using neg pressure, plus 2 computer fans blowing on the plants.
5. What lights is he using. 250w hps and 54wflourel blue spec.
6. Humidity. 40-50 in the day 50-55 in the night.
Ok so i think i covered everything. So i ask would this sad looking droopy leaves be due to the interruptions in the dark period. And do you thing they will pull through. Sorry no pic's as i have no way of getting to his house at the moment and he lives quite away from my house.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Bigby. Did your plants also look sad and droppy after this happened. He is already preparing for hermi's.
But his main concen now is the droopy leaves!!

if the interruption in the dark period was consistant(ie it happened every day in the first week of flowering) all it did was delay flowering by a week, thats all. this is common practice in the greenhouse industry to keep plants from flowering and keep costs down. If anything is wrong with the plants its not the light.

look up 12/1 light cycle on here there is a 57 page thread its basicly the same thing as what happened

Hi there thanks for your reply. After some research on the net I found that it was not the light interruptions, so i think
He may have overfed them as they had 2 feeds in the first week of flower. He has flushed and will flush again if the problem persists. Thanks Again for your input.

Hi Guys..My friend has informed me that his plants look much better now. Im going over to his place this weekend so i should have some pic's. He doesn't know what was wrong with them, could have been a number of things..nutes,airflow, maybe even over watering..it's still a mystry!! But the main thing is that there starting to look sweet again. He has asked me to thank you all for your input as it was greatly accepted.
