Well first off i just moved to Colorado from St Louis i have done a few grows and all were successful using an AeroFlo 2 that i bought from the local Hydro Store there (In St Louis). The system seemed to work great along with Ionic neuts it was almost Idiot proof lol.So i take a break from growing for a few years and me and the family move to good ole Colorado.Well i sold all of my stuff that i had for the set up so instead of spending 400 on a new one i went to home depot and built my own.

1. 8 ft 5x5 white Vynle fence post. $24.00
4. 3/4 rubber grommets. $1.00 a piece
4. end caps for the fence post. $2.50 a piece
1. 550 g/p/h pump off of ebay. $40.00
1. 10ft 1/2 inch pvc pipe. $3.50
2 3ft scrap pieces of 1/2 in pvc pipe .99 cents a piece
2 1/2 inch elbow connectors.50 cents
1 1/2 inch t connector.50 cents
1 1/2 inch male screw in connector (for intake from pump) .50 cents
and used a tote that we had around the house.

This is what i came up with and it runs like a top

i have a question. it seems with such a small area for the roots to grow how big will the plants get, also seems like the spacing from net pot to net pot is pretty close together, they dont crowd?

Spacing may be an issue but I really think you might want to upsize the drain or rethink the drain design. I've had a few experiences with building rails so if you need help let me know.

It did on the Aeroflo i had and i am always open to help lol im pretty sure this will work but if i can make it better without the hassel im open lol........ This is my grow with the aeroflo it was Sensi Star and Generals Daughter

The system looks good either way. After you build something and run it you always figure out better ways for the next time its inevitable. lol. Those plants and buds from your last harvest look great either way as well. Looks like some killer smoke.

Still waiting on plants to get big enough to clone and then she will be up and running

you never answered my question on root space? seems like them little 4x4 tubes dont have alot of room for roots to grow, doest this have a impact on how big the plants ill get? I mean im sure it has some impact but can you grow a normal 2-3 footer in therE?

and what about space between plants? just skip a space each plant?

i ask because this looks like a cheap, easy rig and right now im so tired of paying for soil. a small system like this would suite me well so im just trying to figure out the querks

I did skip spots on the Aeroflo because of spacing on that system i spaced the hole out about 3 1?2 inches or so on this on i think the will be fine i found as long as you can tie up you pretty much have control of how it grows to a point. My first run i am gonna fill all the hole except the first two those are just so i can control the water level in the tubes. When running my older system i put levels high under 18/6 for about a week or so till roots hit the bottom of tubes the kicked it over to 12/12 and it exploded. That was with Ionic Nuets. This time i will be running GH nuets.(Also both then and now are under 1000 watts MH grow &1000 watts hps bloom

Bro Cheap easy and simple as heck lol and is the same set up as AEROFLO 2 set ups i bought one about 8 years ago and it worked like a charm this set up runs off the same concept. In the pics you can see mister heads on the feeding lines. I did away with those (Clogged very easy ) and just drilled 1/16th holes in feeder lines and this thing works like a charm.Havent got to test it just yet but im real close to being ready.I have a 818 headband mom started and an Afgahn Kush X Yumbolt mom started so we will see

Man, I've seen those fence posts in so many grows, but I never knew what they were. THANK YOU! I think I'm going to copy your grow, I may use 6" PVC pipe instead though (for more space), it's my first grow, gonna try different stuff out. I will be following, I wanna see how it goes with the feeder lines, I thought the mister heads would work better.

Check out the posts: My three stages of flower by superstoner1 and harvest a pound every 3 weeks by stinkbud. Lots of rail setups and modifications there.
