What's up RIU?

The strains for the grow will be 2 Tahoe OG Kush clones, and 2 Deep Sleep clones. Deep Sleep is Larry OG x pre98 Bubba. Just got the 600 set up and everything is hooked up and pretty much dialed in.
:leaf:

Everything is fed through the soil, I'm using two different soils right now. One of them is sort of like my own little super soil, I bought roots organic, mixed it with earthworm castings and amended it like it didn't have any nutrients in it at all. My other mix is custom Coco coir blend.

Base: 50% Coco, 25% Earthworm castings, 15% perlite and 10% Parboiled Rice hulls.

Per Cubic foot I add 1/2 cup of the following amendments: Crab meal, Alfalfa meal, Kelp Meal, Fish bone meal, Neem meal, Gypsum. I also put a tablespoon of Langbeinite aka sul-po-mag and 1 cup of fine Rock mineral powder.

Its all organic and for most strains water only, some heavy feeders will require additional kelp and/or fish hydrolysate during the bloom to enhance the flowers. ;)

Comments and feedback are welcome! :leaf:

Tahoe OG Kush #1 is growing out of the Coco mix listed up above, she's the furthest along and has the most pictures accordingly. :weed:

Tahoe OG Kush #2 this one is not as far along, a bit taller and in Roots organic based super soil, amended with all the same stuff as the coco mix.

Deep Sleep #1 growing out of the coco mix, not as far along as the Tahoe OG #1 but not as far behind as TOK #2

Both Tahoe OG #1 and Deep Sleep #1 are in Coco together right under the light... Touching.

Deep Sleep #2 is growing out of the Roots organic based mix, basically the only difference between #1 and #2 of either is that the #1's are further ahead and growing out of the coco. She got light bleached because she's taller than the other plants I had the 600 to close to the canopy because I was used to the 400w.

Looks more like nutrient burn IMO. Beautiful OG Kush man, vibrant and healthy. My first grow was OG Kush. A true OG Kush is originally a sativa dominant strain but I guess there is different phenotypes within the lineage looking at the wide leaves of that TOH #1. Nice choice!! Here is my OG about 5-6 weeks into flower. Then a couple buds that were picked early.

Thanks :) I'm pretty impressed with it myself. :joint:

I would say that is possible but its really hard to burn Deep Sleep. She is a heavy feeder, more than the Tahoe cut. It only effects the parts most directly effected by the HID. It happened right around the time I sprayed them at lights out. Maybe the water was still on her leafs when the lights came out because she's closest to the door of the tent where I was spraying and I experienced some light bleaching.

Thanks, both of these are true clones from California, Tahoe OG has been around since the 90's producing good bud and making growers happy. It's not the Cali connection SFV OG f3 male crossing. Neither of these strains were from Cali connection. Just thought I'd put that down for the record. ;) These came from P.O. and Deep Sleep is an in house crossing of theirs.

There is no difference between #1 and #2 except the mix they were planted in. Sort of for my own side by side comparisons. So far I like the Coco better. The leaves seem to have more life flowing through them.

Nice shots by the way!
Yes, my ogk is also indica dom
The Tahoe is a lot more Sativa leaning than Deep Sleep, Deep Sleep is more Indica dominant from the Pre98 Bubba Kush, she also yields like the Pre98, low yields, real tough to clone.

The strain has one of the most hazy pasts when it comes to true origin. What I can say is anyone who says this plant is a kush definitely has not seen it growing and does not know much about weed because it has high THC and lower Cannabidiol than true Indicas, of which the Kush family come from. It's usage of the name kush is truly false. It's true lineage is consisted of Chemdawg, Lemon Thai and Old World Pakistani. True OG
smells like Pine-Sol, tastes like danky-piney-lemony smoke and it hits you hard and makes you wobbly and takes your mind and body for a ride for hours. Name OG stands for " Ocean Grown " ~ BCbuddy420 :leaf:

Here's a smoke report on my cut, from some other dude at another website. Y'all will have to wait for my take on it.

I well aware that my OG was not a true cut of this incredible strain. My calyxes were not swollen that large ( the pic in your link) and the taste had a slight lemony/dieselly taste but nothing as described of true OG. I do know that when I sold some of mine, people went absolutely nutz lol and my fetched price was above anything paid in my area, an area with incredible quality pot, so whataver it was, was dankness :) I will try again with some from a seedbank to attempt a closer resemblance of this beautiful strain. I got my clones from the owner of a local hydroponic shop so it was definitely not a true OG, perhaps breeded with a heavy producer judging by my harvest and flowering time. Your growing something that is the real deal I think. Mad props! +rep

Oh I believe it, any time I had even the watered down OG's they were a welcomed treat compared to some of the other strains people like to grow. Only cross I've tried that I didn't care for was MK Ultra, it wasn't bad but not what I was hoping for.

I like that OG18 from RP, its flavor come off different but has a real nice buzz. :bigjoint:

The only thing I've found to be stronger than OG is OG Hash bongsmilie its just not for the morning. I prefer a good Sativa for the day time, something that controls pain but allows you to keep a clear head and get things done. This Deep Sleep hash I made is like confusion in a vial.
Why not use fish emulsion instead of fish hydrolysate?
Neptune's Harvest is 1) Cheaper than fish emulsion 2) Safer, fish emulsion is known to come with unsavory amounts of heavy metals that are toxic such as arsenic and lead. 3) Fish emulsion stinks, the hydrolysate is stable so there's no smell. I've never tried emulsion  but I've heard from people who have that fish hydrolysate also works better to. I wouldn't doubt it, my plants have never suffered any lead or arsenic deficiencies.

Here's how fish emulsion is created:

If fish hydrolysate is heated, the oils and certain proteins can be more easily removed to be sold in purified forms. The complex protein, carbohydrate and fats in the fish material are denatured, which means they are broken down into less complex foods. Overheating can result in destruction of the material as a food to grow beneficial organisms. Once the oils are removed and proteins denatured and simplified by the heating process, this material is called a fish emulsion. The hydrolysate process has substantially lower capital and production costs compared to fish emulsion production.[SUP][1][/SUP]
Fish emulsion is a perfect example of how more expensive is not always better... Plants function better with those carbohydrates and enzymes because the soil functions better with those things. The key to a happy organic farm is a thriving, living, breathing organic soil.

Whats up RIU?

Here's the Deep Sleeps, their on week 4-5 of 12/12
:blsmoke: both of them are in pretty good health, no watering issues to speak of.

And the Tahoe OGs, Skunky as hell. They stink up early and really smelly. Like you stepped on a dead skunk.
:weed: Glad I got that new carbon filter.

Overview of the tent. Their pretty much packed in there. :) Those Deep Sleeps are heavy in those big pots. Definitely think I'll just stick with the 3 gallons from now on. Their easier to move around and work on the canopy and all that.

Nice grow man love the o.g I have some xxx o.g I was super surprised with the stretch they like trippeled in size after I flipped the light to 12/12 I Guess it would be good once I got used to it only doing like 1 week of veg on some 10 inch clones got me these 3 footers now.

How long does your o.g normally go like 9 possibly 10 weeks, I was thinking mabey 10 weeks just because of the sativa in there.

thanks dt

that stretch sounds like the stretch of the tahoe og, which i think tahoe is best if you take her down between 66-70 days of 12/12. mine stretched less because i topped them both once and trained the branches to bush out, since she is stretchy and apically dominant this really plays out well and turned some lower branches into top colas. for the first two weeks of stretch i would bend the tops down and out away from each other.

so dont take those longer than ten weeks, none of the ogs go longer than 10 weeks to the best of my knowledge.

another tip i can give you is, chop it when the smell reaches its peak, youll know you went too long in flower when it loses its smell, so if you are at day 65 and it smells dank as hell, dont hesitate to bring her down. sometimes the tops finish sooner, if you want you could leave the undeveloped buds on the branch to finish maturing, i just use them for hash.

here's a pic i took of tahoe og at 5 weeks, dolled it up its my new avatar
