when do you guys find the best time to use Pk.. and stop of use on a 8 week strain?
I use it around weeks 3-5 (give or take a half week or so) and then I switch to a stronger bloom fertilizer (MOAB, Shooting Powder, ect, ect.) for another 1.5 - 2 weeks... Then a quick sugar water flush (usually I flush heavily for 3-5 days straight)... Add Cannazym and a low dose of calmag to the flush water if you are planning to reuse your coco. Perlite may need to added to the coco if you reuse it several times.
Dont flush the day of harvest and chop them when the lights are OFF.

I also like to give a nice dose of a strong pk once right as they go into flower... Like 10-14 days into 12/12.

Ok this might sound (ok it is) like a very newb question BUT i bought the wrong medium to what i previously used and need some advice. In the past i bought the terra line and that was mixed with perlite and soil and fertilized..but on the weekend i didnt really check the packaging (they both look similiar) and bought some coco instead. I realised as i was filling my pots that the soil was much fluffier and lighter and had no perlite. I also remember my hyrdo shop guy telling me that the coco was organic and not fertilized.

So my question is, do i mix some perlite with the coco? I filled the bottom of the pots with 20% perlite but left the medium untouched..what i did do is prepare it for a couple of days by watering it with ph'd water of 5.4 with 4ml of rhizo per litre and letting it bake in the sun.

Am i doing it right? Just a little worried and wanted some answers before i plant my babies in the coco.

Thanks.
That might be the best mistake purchase you ever made....as mica said....straight coco above the perlite bottom and you are good to go. You are gonna love it and the results. When filling your containers and transplanting at same time, go a little higher than normal as first watering makes it compacts/sinks a bit. I've seen this with people new to coco so thought I would relay.

Hello all, looking to try canna coco out. I bought 2 50L bags today so im hoping its good to me. Im only looking to transplant a 4in rockwool block into the coco. I have a couple questions for you coco gurus...

Should i be washing it out like hydroton and if so, whats the best way to do so with losing half of it down the drain.

I see people throwing perlite into the coco. Should I 50/50 with perlite. I have 2 bags also so im ready to mix it up.

Buffering.....I know it says its already buffered, but should I do my own ph'ing before I transplant?

Thanks in advance, you guys are great!

Should i be washing it out like hydroton - NO

I see people throwing perlite into the coco. Should I 50/50 with perlite - Up to you, adding pearlite will make it dry out faster... I run it 100% Coco with 1.5" or so of Hydroton in the bottom of the pots for proper drainage.

...but should I do my own ph'ing before I transplant - NO

Hey guys, haven't been on here for a few weeks now.

My first harvest went well...I grew 3 DP's Blueberry's (indica) and 2 DP's Freddy's Best (sativa). I only grow for myself (this being my first time too) so I don't have a scale to weigh the final amount.

They are currently curing in 1L Mason jars right now (and have been for weeks doing a very slow cure). They are almost done and ready for long term storage. I ended up with 4 jars of the FB and 6 jars of the BB (and all are full). How would you rate that yield?

Both strains are great in their own way (taste, smell and high).

A special thanks to AZ for all his help during my first

I definitely had some great help here (and maybe some beginner's luck).

How long can you keep nutes for/store them? I already talked to a Canna rep about this and he said you can keep them well past the best before dates printed on the bottles providing there is no contamination but didn't give me an absolute date (like 2 or 3 or 5 years). I don't think I'm going to have to grow again for perhaps 2 years with what I ended up with, so I'm debating what to do with my left over nutes. I currently have the bottles sitting in my basement (furnace room) and it's cool/dark in there. I just don't want them "blowing up" one day..lol Not sure what kind of chemical reaction may occur over time....if any. Is it safe to leave them in the same room as my furnace?

If you have to dispose of them, what is the best way to do so? flush down the toilet? pour it out somewhere in your backyard (where nothing is growing)?

If u keep the nutrients cool and dark then they will last a long time. There is no potential danger. When you are ready to use them again, you can tell if they are still good in two ways... First smell them.. if they smell terrible then they are bad and should not be used.. the other thing to check for is solids that may have formed and settled in the bottle.. shake the bottle and if it sounds like little pebbles are in there, then they are no longer desirable nutrients.

And how's that in terms yield for 5 plants? Low, average or high?
Depends on what type of lighting was used (how many watts), how long u vegged for, and the size of the plants, ect.
For example, those would be great numbers if they were smaller plants in a sea of green, and not so great if they were huge monsters that took a long time to veg.

Vegged for 4 weeks with 400W MH. Flowered for 9.5 weeks with 600W HPS. I grew in a DR90 tent and flipped them when they were just over 12" tall. They ended up being between 3-3.5 feet tall...the max height I can handle in that tent.
