I've just cracked 5 barney farm Liberty haze seeds, they have all germinated and sprouted ( 100 percent success rate ) Just wondering can anybody give me any tips on growing this strain?

Does it like a heavy dose of nutes?

Should i super crop and LST?

Any advice would be helpful and if anybody has got information on there average yield with this strain then that would be great to.

I grew five outside this past season (one did in by animals another by some strange fungal problem). In general, they were pretty tolerant outside and I didn;t have to go through any significant issues. I pretty much left them alone to do their thing with some occasional nutes when they called for it.

I did top them at the second node (a la Uncle Ben's method) which they responded well to and developed four strong leaders. In the end, each of the three remaining plants seemed to lean more towards the sativa dom side of the equation. Plants were about 6+ feet tall with long skinny leaves and yielded fairly well.

If yours are anything like mine, it will take far longer for them to finish than Barney's Farm says. I started mine indoors in April, moved them outside around June 1st and harvested in early October (before frost). When i chopped them I felt they could have easily taken another two plus weeks to fill out the buds more. As it was, the buds were not rock hard, but there was a decent number of them and they smelled intensely of lemon pledge. High wasn't too bad but I expected more which might have come to be with a little more time flowering.

Good luck!

Hey Greeners!!

I have four Liberty Haze that have been flowering for two weeks. Only 4 of my 5 germinated - so good on you. My experience is a bit different from Mack's. From what I understand is that there are a diverse number of Phenotypes so it's tough to say exactly how best to handle your ladies as they can differ from plant to plant. Unlike Mack's, I believe mine or more indica dominant. My plants grew short and stocky and really never stretched a whole lot. Based on my experience and others I have discussed with on this board that have grown LH, they are light feeders. I experienced some nute burn during veg when I got close to the point of giving them the full nutrient dosage. I used Floranova Grow and 5ml per gallon is the full feeding dosage and I would suggest that 3.5 ml - 4 ml is the right dosage. I don't think there is any magic to growing this plant, but they are a little on the finicky side. I found them to be very temperature sensitive - so try and keep your temps under 80 degrees.

I topped and fimmed my plants. I LST'd one of them - but it didn't work well and is not nearly as robust as the others. In terms of flowering, from mys discussions with others - the more indica dominant phenotypes tend to flower for about 8 weeks. As Mack pointed out, the sativa dominant phenotypes flower for longer - maybe 10-11 weeks. While it's too early to tell yet for my plants, I think 8-9 weeks is probably right for my plants as they are already showing bud at the end of week 2 of flower.

Here are a few pics of my plants. Good luck - have fun and pay attention to what the plant is telling you.

It is a light to medium feeder. Didnt supercrop any of mine would respond to supercropping well. Did one plant lst that was the larger yielder versus the others I topped and fimmed. In terms of yield I would categorize it as being a moderate yielder. Internodes are medium spaced. Flower time for mine was 68 days. The smoke is sublime to say the least with a distinctive lingering lime funk taste and smell.

This is one of the best trains i have grew! One seed died but the rest are absolutely beautiful. I've kept the temperatures below 80 and I've noticed its took well to high humidity during veg. Will post pictures soon

I germinated 5 Liberty Haze back on 11-15-12. two didn't make it (I F’d up and let the rockwool cubes get too dry about 2 weeks after sprouted) but the three left have really flourished. This is my first grow (using an ebb and flow with 600 watt HPS). Had a few problems with too much water about 3 -4 weeks into veg but let then dry out a couple of days and they bounced right back. I topped two of them and FIM'd one but don't think I got it right....oh well. I did some supercropping about 3 weeks into flowering and trimmed/thinned some fan leaves (these girls really grew thick and bushy!). I used GH Flora series with some Flora Blend in Veg and KoolBloom during flowering. I'm right at 7 weeks and the buds are fat and sticky. Trichomes still seem mostly clear (using a 30x loupe) and I'm hoping to harvest in about 2 weeks. Here’s some pics (if I figured out how to upload correctly)

One didn't make it of mine but i have 4 in 50 lt grow bags. I LST them and they worked great this way and i have topped each branch, 2 new brances come through on each one so there nice and bushy. Worried about the hieght in flower so going to tie them down again tonight.

I don't think you should of supercropped during flower, this is really bad! And trimming fan leaves is a big no no to! Leaves are the organs for photosynthesis! You should of tied them if you needed more light for your bud spots, cutting leaves is easier but will decrease your overall yield. They look lovely though! Might take a bit long than 9 weeks flowering, heard a lot of people saying 10-12 weeks depending on pheno.

Let me know how it all turns out for you though mate

I think you have more than 2 weeks to go, I would think 3-4 weeks as white and straight as those pistols are.

Thanks for the feedback on how much time left to flower and supercropping. They filled back in really well and I've just let them just do their thing since then. Some of those pics are from a week ago but I'll be patient and won't harvest early. Got a few pistols starting to brown up and I'm getting a 60x - 100x mini magnifier this week so i can keep an eye on those trichomes. Overall pretty happy with this first grow progress. I'll post some updates and more pics as i get close to harvesting! :)

I have one vegging for about 6 weeks or more. I topped it after the eigth node and am letting all the branches grow to the same height. I top like crazy and the end plant should look like a table top or pretty close. It has been a very light feeder. I put 3 tablespoons of Marine Cuisine in a 3 gallon container when I planted it and have been just watering it since. It's as dark green and as it can be. I just use water for a foliar feed too. It is staying pretty short so I am thinking it's on the side of the indy pheno. My temps have been anywhere from 50 to 70.

chewberto... I noticed in some of your journals the heading says Lib Haze but I have not seen in pics or info on the plant. Am I missing it? I am pretty bad at looking at the first page and maybe the second if I get interested. I must suffer from ADD cause I can not make it past page 3 of any journal. I apologize if I missed it but any info you have would be welcomed.

I have been a huge G13 fan since the late 80's and I am interested with any strain that has the G in it. I am also growing the Tangerine Dream right now too. I have seen lots of negative comments on these strains but never any exact reason why. I am finding that the TD and LH are super light feeders in Veg (just turned TD to 12/12). Matter of fact I am finding the TD doesn't like too much water either.

Nice work on all your journals.

Yes there are pictures in there with me holding a bottle next to it! I agree with G13 being awesome, this is why I grew it out, and the visual aesthetics were definitely g13 dominant but I didn't get that original taste I was looking for, also it was very hairy and I don't really dig hairy stuff! I grew two of them out! It yielded great but it wasn't a keeper in my opinion and for my personal taste!

chewberto: Have you found anything that has the G flavor that you like? Have you tried Sensi's Mr.Nice G / Hashplant?

I haven't had the mr nice strain! I have only had g13 that I liked! Crosses with it I haven't cared for so far, but there is plenty to search for! Wish I can just get g13 the real deal!
