While it is true, that the hps is in the correct spectrum for flowering.
An MH flowered crop will be very good.
Don’t feel you need to run out and get an HPS, if you don’t have one. Many fine growers prefer MH for flowering.

Peace

I'm pretty sure that if he's running a 600 watt "Halide" he is already using a conversion lamp. From my knowledge, there is no straight across the board 600 MH lamp on the market.

Or did I miss it?

good luck

have you ever flowered under a halide VM. if you had to it will work to a point. your plant needs that red more than anything else

I have flowered under a MH lamp, in fact one of my four lights is a MH right now. It works just fine man, I've never noticed a difference but people claim it doesn't come out as dense. Buy an HPS after your harvest, but for now don't worry about a thing man.

here is a quote from USERFRIENDLY

"people change to hps because they don't know any better. Its what someone told them was correct. The red light is going to grow slightly bigger LESS POTENT buds because the trichomes/resin is dilluted by the slightly bigger nugs. The rise in plant material is not proportionate to the rise in trichomes. The halides pump out uvb which force the plant to insulate and protect themselves with more trichomes/resin. Believe that. If you want connoisseur nugs, you grow with halides."

i use 3 bulbs in my grow 150w hps, 125w cfl flowering spectrum and 150w mh

i have noticed in my grow that the two plant closest the mh light have got more trics on them than the ones closest to the hps

Hps is the shit to flower , produces so many effects and a amazing high amount of lumens i think 600 watts is 80,000 lumens and a 1000 watter is 120,000 lumens ..

im no pro but trust me on this one your mh will work great. hps is a slightly more economical lamp, but as someone said some people prefer mh in flower. but either way if you do everything else right your goin to get plenty of bud

go to you tube and search thc, uvb, and me by marijuana man, I think its pot tv. I use MH for flower with odor eliminating cfls i think that are at 2700k to add red spec as well as side lighting for outer buds and they are oder eating producing alil co2 when they kill bacteria, they are 13 bucks at HD, 23 watts.

My last grow i did was under a MH and it turned out great. I got about 8 oz off of four plants so i cant really complain. All of my friends and myself included agree that the herb was truely spectacular.

I think alot of old school guys rock mh ! And who has the best buds ??? Old heads do! The hps produces the colors a plant likes when flowering but the halide helps develop the "esential oil" that we all love! So a hps will grow bigger buds but the mh will do just fine for making the slightly smaller nugs very potent! So if you got it use it!! Im converting some 400s for the flower room now!! I WAS ALL HUNG UP ON HPS UNTILL I FOUND OUT THE BIGGEST REASON THEY WERE USED WAS TO SWELL UP BUDS FOR SALE. I DONT SELL SO I WANT BETTER BUDS I DONT NEED A POUND A WEEK YA KNOW! you will certainly find people love there hps but most havent tried both i am hooked to a few threads flowering under mh looking great!

i am only stating my opinions based on things i have watched grow so im not bagging on hps at all i just like to "think outside the box" a little bit! right now im flowering some 12/12 from seed girls under cfls and they are doing great too!

a few pics of the $50 400mh's!

alot of pro growers(even real flowers) mix spectrums to emulate fall/summer conditions ! im going to rock the 400 mh and some 2700k cfls to cover the whole spectrum!

ya you can run my all the way threw your grow. that's all they had back in the beginning days of indoor growing and i remember the bud back then. 90 day wonder was one strain and it was the bomb in those days. :-P
