Pollen EVERYWHERE!!! How do I clean this up?

So I got 10 dieselryder seeds. I lost 1 seed somehow into the carpet then two didn't germinate and one mysteriously died. I was left with six healthy plants. My objective was to do a seed run so that I wouldn't need to buy any more seeds since, from what I understand, it's really not worth cloning these auto flowering strains. Then, amazingly, when they sexed I ended up with five males and just one lone female. I guess thats fine, and I'm sure I will end up with a shit load of seeds off the one female.

My problem is this: with five males in there, they are dumping pollen EVERYWHERE!!! I'm afraid that after my seed run is done and I want to go all female there will still be pollen all over the place in my grow room and that all of that remaining pollen will seed my next run of females! I do plan to mop down the floor and walls with bleach water before I start my next batch but pollen is really tiny and sticks to everything...

How long does pollen survive after it leaves the male flowers? Does it die or become infertal after a while? Does anyone have any advise for me on how else I might get my room free from all this yellow dust so that my next run doesn't accidentally turn into just another seed run? Is there a chemical spray I might use just to bomb the whole room to kill whatever pollen I'm not able to remove just by cleaning? Lysol? Something else?

Any advise appreciated!

Get rid of the males. Pollen does not stay viable for too long but I'd wipe everything down once the female is finished. Maybe a spraybottle with a mild concentration of bleach. If you are growing in a tent don't be surprised to find a few stray seeds your next go-around even if you clean up pretty well. Mother nature has it's way.

and i dont know why buy i had like 100 seed and only 5 germed and most were male horrible

run a HEPA air filter in your growroom and put another fan in there to stir things up. the filter will remove the pollen for you.

Just hoover up well and wash down and you'll be fine.
Pollen loses its viability really quickly especially when its been contaminated with dirt and dustbongsmilie

next time you do a seed run just take a small glass container and bump an open male flower over the jar. you will barely be able to see the pollen but there will be lots in the bottom of the jar. then once your female shows hairs take a q tip and rub the bottom of the jar and rub the hairs. with this method you can pollinate only a few buds and you will have plenty of seeds and and lots of good smoke. with 5 males in there you are gona have a seedy mess and a stunted plant.

Sorry to get off topic, but just how long does pollen remain viable?
I have pollin that is sitting out in a small glass jar at room temp sence the begining of september. I used it to pollinate a female a couple of weeks ago with no problems. I plan on using it again so hopfully it's good(one reason I left it out is to see how long it stays good for (if not I have some in the frig just incase it goes bad). I would say as long as it stays dry it can stay viable for a couple of months. If its wet or anything I would imagian it goes bad.

Deffantly wash that room good if you don't want to pollinate your next crop.

Hey All,
I have another question on this - I'm about 50 days in and the one female is heavily laden with seeds but how do I know when they are mature? I was planning on cutting her down right around the usual 60-70 day harvest time for Diesel Ryder but I haven't ever grown for seed before. Do they need more time to mature? Is there anything else I need to do to ensure they're viable?
Thanks!

well from what i was told that if u are concered for the seeds not so much the bud leave it flower for a least a 1-3 after the rest are finished the plant should be on the verge of death but the seeds will be heathier than an early harvest

I've learned you shouldn't go by the time at all you look at the things that look like water drops with a 30-60x microscope then you see them turn milky and you cut them before they turn amber and hang the plant upside down, try to trim as much leaf the last few days as it will help the cutting process, I've also learned that the calaxy things look like pods on each part of the plant they get fat almost like they are going to burst, they start the bottom and go to the top when the tops are looking like that it's ready.

you will seed little brown seeds sticking out of calyxs when that happens they are ready.

umm i think you did the right thing with what happened at least youll have a ton of high quality seeds. and the simple fact you had more males than females sucks since you wont know whos da pappy, but you will get an awesome generation of varying pheno this would be a good chance for you to epand your breeding by finding an interesting pheno to breed back easier. a lot of breeder would have killed to be in your situation, its how you say unique.

pollen is viable for maybe 3 weeks at the very MAX(unrefrigerated) but as soon as it touches most things it die. jus spray everything down with water. water is MJ pollen antivenom. it makes it inert.

This is just an idea but since pollen doesnt do well in humidity you could try raising the humidity of the room. Maybe leave out a couple jugs of water in the room? Im not sure how well this will work because its just off the top of my head but maybe someone can add their input?
